You have a short to ground on a B+ circuit . Go on youtube an check out videos on finding a short circuit . Check out videos on basic automotive electrical trouble shooting , how to read a wiring diagram . Then go to http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html for free wiring diagrams , power distribution diagrams . Then isolate the circuit with the short . Easy ! good luck !

2005 kia sorento change ext fuse and it keep blowing

I have a 2004 Sorento EX and my EXT fuse along with the stop lamp fuse kept blowing. The ext would blow as soon as I turned the vehicle on. The stop lamp would blow after a couple pushes of the brake pedal causeing me to have no rear lights at all regarding brake and the lights that you turn on at night. After much reading online in forums such as this, I was led on a chase looking for grounding wires, broken wires, dirty battery terminals, faulty altinator, and for a drl module. I could not find a drl module as I now do not believe there is one in sorentos, or at least in mine. I then came to the brake switch that is located on the arm of the brake pedal. I disconnected it, put a couple of new fuses in, started my vehicle and checked my fuses, and at last they did not blow! I reconnected the brake switch and checked the fuses and they had blown. I have a hunch that I am dealing with a faulty brake switch. Hope this helps

Tail lights, instrument panel lights, and license plate lights not working. Fuse blows immediately when changed.

that line on that fuse is shorted, the fuse saved the fire.
we use an ampclamp DC ammeter to find the wire that is shorted
and the actual point of short.

the park-tail circuit (tail fuse, right) is the most complex of all.
20 lamps inside car, and many out side, it is the hardest to find of all shorts. but not with the tool
first check for damage behind all park lamps
i bet the fuse blows in park (1st click) not head lights. right?
side lamps the 4 front rear park lamps, some call it tail its not really tail now, was in 1920 ,not now. park is everywhere.
but the fuses can be marked tails, for fun .
imagine, calling the 2 front lamps tails. and are on .(my on going joke)
sidelamps,
the inside lamps are many too.
all dimmable lamps. so turn the dimmer down to zero and see if fuse blows now, NO?, bingo.

the best way to fix this is , visual inspections for collision damage or wire hacks in the cab.
then the fuse is pulled and circuit breaker inserted 15amp
(they sell em)
then we connent the ammeter to the wire (output of fues)
i push the switch and amps goes to infinity and the CB trips
if follow the cables, and find what line is shorted.

i missed one problem
on the rear or front 4 corners of the car may be twist lock blubs.
like 1157 or? these love to short. push in lamps never short.well not the lamp actual.
in not sure what lamps the 06 uses, but replace the brass based lamps. (in park tail ckt)

My daughters 1998 honda accord ex keeps blowing fuses she is having to replace the brake light fuse after we replaced the brake light switch when she changed the fuse last the horn blew and she was shocked...

The horn and rear brake lights are on the same fuse. Eventually the horns rust out like on my 1998 CRV. Once I replaced the horns, I could put in a new fuse without it blowing every time I sounded the horn. Problems still remain, namely: the cruise control does not engage and the remote start only starts the engine that runs for two seconds then dies. Still looking for an answer. It's a "Code Alarm" with Codestart dated 11/24/99.

Problems with brake lights on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

YES -- process of elimination. Obviously there's a short circuit in the Brake/Headlight circuits - right? Blown fuse(s) is/are evident of this -- would you agree? Which fuse(s) is/are blowing? An analysis tells you that the only time a fuse blows is when the headlamps are turned on -- correct? Otherwise, brake lights work normally -- right? OK. Head lamps have relays which turn them on. Here's a wiring diagram of the 2000 Hyundai Sonata (NOT the Jeep Grand Cherokee)
7a9e354.jpg a663f53.gif It would appear the problem is with one or more bulbs or sockets or both. As you many notice, there are no connections between the headlamps and brake lamps except the parking lamps (which share the bulbs/sockets)
c7068ec.gif When the headlamps are turned on, so does the tail lamp relay. As you can see, these bulbs/sockets are 'DUAL' filament to ground (series-parallel circuit). Just a guess here - the short is in one of the lower rear brake/parking lamp bulbs/sockets.... just a guess.
