If your not replacing the whole housing, you need to use a hammer and chisel and remove all the rubber from inside the aluminum housing.

On the back side of the brakes, will be 2 bolts attached to steering knuckle. You have 2 ways to remove it. You can take the 2 bolts that hold the caliper onto the caliper mounting bracket, usually a rubber boot on them, then remove the caliper. At that point, you'll have easier access to the 2 remaining bolts that screw into the knuckle. The other option is just remove the whole assembly, remove the 2 bolts in the mounting bracket to remove the whole thing.

Changing alternator on 2007 camry v6
1) remove cover on top of the rad support.
2) remove air intake pipe that goes to air filter
3) remove hood lock mechanism
4) remove bar that is situated on top of radiator
5) remove electric part from rad fan
6) remove rad fan
7) remove rad hoses
8) remove serpentine belt, remember the route of belt
9) remove two bolts one from top and one from bottom on alternator no14
10) very important that there is a bracket that attaches alternator to the engine block, remove that bracket and take out the alternator from top
Installation, just put everything back

VW Jetta MKIV - G68 sensor replacement - how to lower transmission?


Use a floor jack or trolley jack under the transmission. Also use a block of wood if you have the jack on the transmission's lower pan. You will see that the whole engine and transaxle assembly will tilt down somewhat with the transmission mount removed. If it is not enough to replace the sensors, raise the jack back up and take off that dogbone, then lower the whole thing again until you can get to the sensors. Be careful when getting the mounts back on, that the engine and transaxle settle down perfectly into the mounts, so you have no vibration issues.

It's hard to come up with a solution for this one without actually "feeling" the symptoms. I assume that what you're describing is that you can feel vibration coming from the engine. I suggest that you have the engine mounts checked.

Also, make sure the mount that sits just behind the radiator has rubber in the middle of it where the bolt goes through. On some models, the rubber mount is attached to the frame (which attaches to a bracket on the engine). On other models, the rubber part is attached to the engine (which attaches to a bracket on the frame).

I've seen cases where the mechanic had a bracket on the engine and another bracket on the frame. Instead of the mechanic removing one of the brackets and replacing it with the rubber mount, they would just align the two brackets together and run the bolt through them.

This causes the vibration to be transferred directly from the engine to the frame. This will also put stress on the exhaust pipe causing it to eventually break because the engine is not seated properly. The engine will be tilted slightly to the rear...

How to remove starter from 2004 pacifica


REMOVAL
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove (UPPER RADIATOR CROSS MEMBER) and relocate (UPPER RADIATOR CROSS MEMBER REMOVED) the upper radiator crossmember, (Refer to 23 - BODY/EXTERIOR/RADIATOR CROSSMEMBER - REMOVAL).
Remove the radiator fan module (FAN MODULE IN VEHICLE) (Refer to 7 - COOLING/ENGINE/RADIATOR FAN - REMOVAL).
Remove the wiring harness clip from front mount.
Remove the coolant line clamp bolt (COOLANT LINE BRACKET).
Remove the upper nut from the front mount (FRONT RUBBER MOUNT UPPER NUT).
Remove the upper starter mounting bolt (UPPER STARTER BOLT).
Remove the middle starter bolt (MIDDLE STARTER BOLT).
Raise vehicle and support.
Remove the lower front mount nut (FRONT RUBBER MOUNT IN POSITION).
Raise and support engine (SUPPORT ENGINE).
Remove the lower bracket bolt to transmission (BRACKET TRANS BOLT).
Remove the lower bracket bolt to engine block (BRACKET ENGINE BLOCK BOLT).
Relocate the front mount and bracket.
Disconnect the positive battery cable from starter
Disconnect the solenoid connector from starter.
Remove the lower starter bolt (STARTER LOWER BOLT).
Remove starter from vehicle.

Q. Where is the starter on a 1986 nissan stanza station wagon and how do you get to it ?


Due to limited access to the starter, it is recommended that the transaxle be removed when servicing the starter.

REMOVAL:

1. Cold vehicle.

Remove 2 mounting bracket bolts, 10 & 12 mm (Figure 1).

Remove top starter motor bolt 14 mm with universal & long extensions.

Raise vehicle on hoist.

Remove front splash pans 10 mm.

Automatic transmission: Drain 2 qts out.

Remove rt-ft wheel 21 mm., & tie rod (Figure 3), axle cap, cotter pin, adj-nut & rubber washer.

Remove ball joint nuts 17 mm., left lower control arm 19mm. & swaybar bracket 14 mm. (Fig 2).

Remove axle nut 36mm (Figure 4), the front tube, catalytic converter heat insulators 10mm, ctr ex-tube 17 mm., and front tube from exhaust system (Figure 5).

Remove long bolt from ft engine mount (next to radiator), 17mm socket (Figure 6, Item A).

Remove tension rod mount 14 mm. Has adj-bracket with rubber insulators (Fig 6, Items B, C).

Remove right side drive shaft bolts that hold shaft to bracket mounted on engine (Fig7) 12mm.

Remove rt-driveshaft.

CAUTION: Transaxle side seals are cut by spline teeth.

Install hoist type transmission jack and wooden block under the transmission/engine. Be certain the transmission is safely balanced on the hoist.

Remove 5 engine crossmember mounts (3 bolts, 2 nuts) 14mm.

Remove nut that attaches crossmember to engine mount.

Loosen stabilizer bar mounts to allow adequate clearance for crossmember to be removed.

Remove following brackets to allow starter assembly to pass through bottom:

tubular support bracket - engine to transaxle

angled support bracket - driveshaft bracket to engine mount

manifold collector stay - (bottom bolts)

Loosen top bolts, remove bracket above driveshaft-holding bracket 14mm.

NOTE: This bracket is slotted to allow it to slide out without completely removing the bolts.

Remove bottom starter motor mounting bolt.

Separate starter assembly from bellhousing, DC all cables/connectors, remove starter motor.

When installing starter, connect cable, install/torque starter bolts.

If just the rubbers in the engine mounts are bad, could just the rubber pack be replaced ?.


You have to replace the whole mount. They aren't that expensive. I suppose you could replace just the rubber, but they don't sell them that way.

The mount is probably bad anyhow. so get it out however you need to, you can always cut the nut or bolt off and the new mount will have a new stud. so you will only need a nut.

How to replace alternator on 1999 ford taurus 6 cyl.


If this is for the 3.0L Vulcan engine, it's really easy. There are two mounting bolts and a stud nut. The mounting bolts go through the left side of the mounting bracket and through the alternator (it's at the top of the serpentine assembly). You'll have to take the stud not off from the lower intake manifold to remove the second mounting bracket. Make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal first so that you don't fry anything. You'll also have to remove the nut that attaches the ground to the alternator and remove the wiring harness. The nut is enclosed in a black rubber pocket that protects the connection from moisture. After you've done all this, just pull it up and off the assembly. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Sounds similar to a problem I had...felt like a tire out of balance in the 50-60 mile per hour range. I just replaced the front transmission mount and problem is gone. This mount is very visible between the radiator and engine/transmission. There is an aluminum bracket mounted to the transmission with three studs/nuts. The front transmission mount is rubber with a stud/nut from top and bottom. The top stud goes through the aluminum bracket. The rubber around the bottom stud was torn on mine (but you cannot see until removed). First I removed the nut on the bottom of the mount. Then removed the nut on top of the mount...there were small holes in the metal which I placed a small screwdriver into to keep mount from turning. Then I removed the three nuts on the bracket. I located a sturdy area on the bottom of the transmission and jacked it up (do not jack on oil pan). I was able to jack up a few inches until I could wiggle the bracket and mount free without disconnecting anything else. Assembly is basically the reverse. Transmission mount costs about $65.
