Check for an interupt in your wiring seems that theres a loss of current and then the car shuts off then reconnects to allow you to restart

Just a heads up wiring problems is usually straight labour plus what it costs to fix

2006 pontiac grand prix is skipping while driving

It's the CPS (crankshaft position sensor) beginning to fail. The sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer on the lower RH side of the engine. If you look down the accessory belt from the alternator you"ll see a wiring harness leading behind the crankshaft pulley. An easy way to diagnose a faulty sensor is to warm up the engine and carefully tap on the sensor bracket while the engine is idling. A bad sensor will cut out and the engine will stall.

Car shuts off while driving wont start up until cools off engine not running hot 99 pontiac grand prix

You need to replace your crankshaft position sensor located by the harmonic balacer. These sensors heat up and cut off the engine until the sensor cools down. This happens with age and it is not specific to GM.
