You need to check your brake fluid and make sure it's at the maximum level. Hope this helps

Brake hose bolt leaking


If this is on a flexible style hose to caliper, then clamp the caliper, remove the bolt and copper washers. Replace the washers, clean the area, make it free of corrosion and rebuild.
At a last resort, if you can't find replacement copper washers, then heat up the washers until soft, then rebuild quickly and tighten down.

Bleed that brake line, pump out the pedal and apply generous force to the pedal. Check the joint for any leaks once more.
Remember to clean any spilled brake fluid by splashing or hosing gently with water. Stay clear of any vehicle electrics.

The brakelight fuse and the switch on the pedal is only for the brake lights. It should have no effect on the dash brake light. That light is to alert you that a problem exists in your braking system, not the brake lights. I think you will have to pull off the rear drums and investigate why they are locking up. Check for a leaking brake wheel cylinder that may have contaminated the brake shoes, causing them to grab and lock up. Are the shoes in good shape? Also, check the operation of the emergency brake. Maybe it is not releasing fully. The emergency brake can be adjusted on the cables somewhere underneath the truck, probably at the equalizer (where the cable for the emergency brake splits to both sides of the truck). The adjusting nut will have a lock nut tight against it to hold the adjustment. Loosen the lock nut, then turn the adjusting nut one way to loosen the cable, and the other way to tighten up the cable. You might want to loosen it up and see if that has any effect, and then tighten it once you have fixed the problem. The adjustment would be about right when the emergency brake handle or pedal locks up the rear brakes when it is depressed about halfway to nearly fully depressed.

Degas Bottle Removal
  1. Drain radiator (8005) until engine coolant is out of degas bottle. Disconnect radiator overflow hose (8075) and engine coolant vent hose at degas bottle.
  1. Remove power steering oil reservoir retaining screws and position power steering oil reservoir (3A697) out of the way.
  1. Remove degas bottle return hose and clamp. Remove degas bottle retainers and remove degas bottle.
Installation
  1. Position degas bottle in vehicle and install retaining screw and nut. Tighten retaining bolt and nut to 9-12 Nm (80-106 lb-in).
  1. Connect degas bottle hose and clamp to degas bottle.
  1. Position power steering oil reservoir onto degas bottle and install retaining screws securely.
  1. Connect radiator overflow hose and engine coolant vent hose to degas bottle.
  1. Fill and bleed engine cooling system as described. Check for coolant leaks and proper engine coolant level after engine reaches normal operating temperature.

Sometimes the brakelight dont come on. i push the pedal and it takes a few seconds to come on. i changed the brake light bulbs,checked the fuses all good


there is a switch, like a push button, mounted to the brake pedal arm. i would look there next. they unplug from wiring and generally some type of snap/clip holds them onto the brake pedal arm. you will have to get down on the gournd and look up underneath the dashboard. a flash light could come in handy

If no fluid is "leaking" from the brake lines (inspect visually) then the brakes should be bled with this method: Use 1/8 inch 2 foot long hose from parts store and attach the hose from bleeder valve ball on the brake caliper to a bottle partially filled with brake fluid. The end of the hose in the bottle must be submerged in some clean brake fluid in the bottle. With a second person holding the brake pedal to the floor, slowly turn bleeder valve counter clockwise (loosen tiny bit) with wrench and watch for dirty brake fluid to create bubbles in the bottle. When bubbles start, quickly tighten bleeder valve back to tight. Second person should lift foot, pump and then while valve is still tight should push the pedal to the floor again and THEN you again open bleeder valve slowly turning counter clockwise and watch for bubbles. Repeat until no more bubbles can be created in the bottle where the hose is submerged. Move to next caliper and repeat. For a firm brake pedal you will need to repeat this on all four calipers.

The rear brakes on the Spectra will always engage less than the front brakes. If you have to push hard on the brake pedal then you probably have air in the brake lines from the last brake pad replacement. The brakes need to be bled with this method: Use 1/8 inch 2 foot long hose from parts store and attach from bleeder valve ball on the brake caliper to a bottle partially filled with brake fluid. End of hose should be submerged in bottle. With second person holding brake pedal to floor, slowly turn bleeder valve counter clockwise (loosen tiny bit) with wrench and watch for dirty brake fluid to create bubbles in the bottle. When bubbles start, quickly tighten bleeder valve back to tight. Second person lifts foot while valve is tight and then pushes pedal to floor again and THEN you again open bleeder valve slowly turning counter clockwise and watch for bubbles. Repeat until no more bubbles can be created in the bottle where the hose is submerged. Move to next caliper and repeat. For a firm brake pedal you will need to repeat this on all four calipers. My 2003 Kia's rear brake pads "fell apart" and never wore out in 190000 miles because they do not get used. The braking power is primarily in the front disk brakes on this model. Removing and replacing the rear drum brake linings did not even require me to bleed the brake lines. They weren't that tight before or after the replacement procedure.

After I bleed my Brakes why does the brake pedal still go to the floor


If you bled them properly, ( with a hose on the bleeder screw, and the other end into a bottle of brake fluid) then your master cylinder is probably faulty. If you don't know what i mean by the hose thing, you get a piece of vacuum line about 2 feet long, that will fit tight over the bleeder screw. You put the other end in a clear glass bottle, about half full of brake fluid. Pump your brakes until no more bubbles are coming out of the hose into the bottle. Tighten the bleeder screw, and repeat on each wheel.

I need to know how to properly replace the brake hose.


There is no improper way to do it. Plan on fluid coming out of that hose and the line it is connected to. Remove the old hose. Install the new hose.
IMPORTANT: Bleed the line by having someone press and hold the brake peddle while you open the bleed screw at the wheel. (You could connect a small piece of plastic fish tank air line to the bleed screw to catch the fluid and allow you to conduct it to a bottle or jar.)
After a few seconds, retighten the bleed screw and have your helper pump and hold down the brake peddle again. Then you open the bleed screw again.

Repeat until no air comes out (fluid only).

Next, add DOT 3 brake fluid to the master cylinder.
Test for leaks.

Generally.....3 things happen.
The washer fluid plastic bottle may be cracked....not likely.
The pump (and or gasket at the pump) may be leaking ......30%.
The rubber hose pushed onto the pump to direct the washer fluid up to the window may have popped off........70% ......most likely.
