Does it kind of shake when you start it up and then smooth out and run normally? It sounds like a missfire... I would try to change the plugs and plug wires if it's not the battery (and I doubt it's the battery) shouldn't cost more than 50 bucks to do yourself and it's easier than changing a headlamp bulb on that car, which I'm sure everyone has done a few times, haha... Hope I helped! :-)

Problems starting! After several attemps it starts for a second then ded again after several more attemps it starts and then runs OK! Whats the problem?

Hi Conny:
I'd start by looking at the fuel delivery system.
Injectors or carb?
Sounds like it's not getting gas.
Make sure the carb is clean, automatic choke working.
Fuel pump doing its job?

2001 Toyota Tacoma - starts slow and then runs normal. The batery is new. What can cause this? Bad starter?

you may need to check your starter motor even tho it is starting the car there could be a loose wire or fault on it that is causing is to respond/spin slowly

The clima control unit wont start after it was disconnected. Totally ded! All light, fan, etc. is ded. XC70-2001

I hate to state the obvious, but it sounds like it was not reconnected. There are 3 possibilities, no power, no ground, or bad fuse.

I have a 1989 f 150. It slow starts or just clicks.

as your cranking have a meter on the battery. Your batery may have 12 volts at rest but it should not pull down below 9.6v while cranking.. Remove and clean the battery connectors and then test

Tubro lag ,slow to start,

It needs plugging into tech II to see what the Rail Oil Presssure Control valve is reading and the rail oil pressure sensor is showing .Both of these affect the starting and running .
The slow volts rise is just a lazy alternator.

Welcome to FIXYA

did you check the starter and depending on the starter there is a SOLONOID switch in the starter or on the firewall of the car

if it just did a (clicking ) noise this is the problem if the starter turns slow more or less it is the starter

hope this helps you out have a good day :)
