If you have a yellow oil pressure warning light displaying then you may have 2 problems
1. Your oil level is way too low and needs topping up which very often means you are a sloppy owner that does not bother to regularly check the oil level in the engine and probably the other fluids as well.
2. There is a problem with the oil pressure and it is below the minimum needed to lubricate the engine.
What you need to do:
1. Check the oil level and top it up to the max level with the correct grade and type of oil as specified by Toyota for that engine.
Do not overfill the sump.
2. Check to see if the oil pressure warning is continuing to display when the sump has been filled to the correct level. If you still have the oil pressure warning you need to have it investigated and the cause of the low pressure rectified otherwise you will destroy your engine if you continue to run it with less than minimum pressure. A mechanic needs in the first place to connect an independent oil pressure gauge to the engine to check the actual pressure readings. This will also eliminate any possibility that there is an issue with the oil pressure sensor and sender unit (which is not likely). .
