Question about 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

I started the engine and it clicked finally on the 3rd try it started could this be related to the fuel filter?

Yes , but most likely the starter is starting to go out. I would have the starter replaced first .

P0302 and low coolant

DTC P0302 - Misfire Detection Monitor - Cylinder 2 Misfire

A misfire is nothing more than a lack of combustion, which can be caused by poor fuel quality or metering, low compression, lack of spark or unmetered air entering the engine. There are other possible, less obvious causes as well, such as uncommanded Exhaust Gas Recirculatin (EGR), flow.

Other possible causes:
* Fuel injectors, related wiring, sensors and computer issues
* Running out of gas, or poor fuel quality
* Evaporative emissions system (EVAP) concerns: fuel vapors leaking into engine
* Incorrect Fuel Pressure
* EGR system concerns: leaking EGR valve or restricted ports
* Base engine concerns: low compression, valve train problems and timing issues
* Ignition system concerns including, but not limited to:
- Faulty spark plugs
- Faulty coil or related wiring
- Ignition module or related wiring issues
- Ignition related sensor faults or wiring issues

2002 dodge grand caravan won't start

Hello, Just by my experience with my 91 dodge grand caravan, I would start checking 3 things. First, did you replace spark plug wires to the correct location(Plugs 1, 3 and 5 on the back, Plugs 2, 4 and 6 on the front,That's all starting from the Passenger's side.) 2nd, do your dash lights and electronics turn on when it turns over? If not, try jumping it and 3rd if engine finally runs after that and then shuts off, then your alternator will be next to check however if engine dosen't start running from trying to jump it then the problem is more than likely your alternator. Though make sure you have plugged in all plugins that you might of unplugged like the one that plugs into your DIS coil pack and all vacuum hoses are connecting. Hope this helps and good luck!

My car won't shift out of 3rd gear in drive

The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type.

Service engine light is on and running really rough

probably not module if it restarted within a minute of dying if it smokes black it is most likely fuel system related possibly fuel pressure rewgulater also check coolant level in radiater could also be vacuum leak check egr valve

Fuel filter went out we replaced it changed spark plugs also but still wont turn over

Fuel filter has nothing to do with the car turning over. It may prevent the car from starting. Do the engine turn over or try to crank or start. If the car is turning over but will not start it could be fuel related. Is the battery fully charged? if not charge it. Spray some starting fluid in the breather for 3 seconds to see if its fuel related. If the car starts and goes dead it is fuel related. Do this a couple of time and you should get the same results. If it does not start it will be electrical. Good Luck!!!

Engine stalling after starting and stopping

Does that mean it does not stall or **** in 3rd gear?
The difference between low RPM and high RPM is primarily a greater fuel requirement. So a fuel related problem like clogged filter or bad fuel pump or return pressure regulator comes to mind.
Spark is also slightly RPM related, so you could have the ignition control module checked at Autozone or a place like that.
Other RPM related items, such as EGR, PVC, and tank purge valve are not likely to be so dramatic alone.

Engine not starting

Could be fuel related or spark related.
Best guess:
Fuel filter is clogged, no gas reaching engine. - Spray "starting fluid" (AutoZone $3) into air intake and try to start it. If it kind of starts, spray more and try again. If it starts (sort of) then it is fuel related (fuel pump, maybe).

Other wise it is ignition.

Doesn't start on first turn, by 2nd or 3rd starts. Idles rough.

Battery should be around 12V the alternator puts out 14V. Sounds like a fuel problem, leaking injectors or injector's O-rings. Weak or faulty fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, faulty fuel regulator. Try this, when starting the car while cold. Put the key all the way to the ON position, wait five to ten seconds then crank the car to start. It should start the first time the longer you give it the more fuel pressure there will be to start the car.

Engine starts for about a second then dies.

It sounds to me like a possible fuel delivery problem or a possible power problem. Lets explore the possible fuel problem first then move on to the power. If it is fuel related then most likely it is a clogged fuel filter located under the hood next to the firewall behind the intake half way down close to the passengers side of the car. It is simple to change and just aggravating to get to. That is most likely the problem with the fuel or a bad fuel pump located under the car on the frame rail under the drivers side door. If it is a power problem the most likely candidate is a bad Alternator causing the battery to go dead upon the initial start up of the engine. it requires quite a lot of amperage to run a car such as this and approximately 10 of the 13 volts to keep it running that a typical alternator puts out when charging the battery up as well. Start with the basics like a bad battery and fuel filter then move on to the more expensive things that it could be like a fuel pump or alternator. Most repair shops are able to fix these problems relatively inexpensively or you can find someone in your area that is a "shade tree mechanic" with the knowledge to do this even cheaper. On occasion I have seen a starter relay (if equipped) that can cause this same issue on many other kinds of automobile. I have never had that in a Honda though so I am unaware if that would be a fix or not.

Hard to start warm engine

Sounds like you have a problem with your fuel injectors, either they are working to much or not enough once they get warm....

Take it to a shop ant tell them you want the injectors tested.
