Your car doesn't use an expansion valve. It uses a fixed
orifice tube which is located in the smaller of the two A/C lines, just
before they enter the cabin area of the car.
Just disconnect the line and pull the orifice tube out of the line. Be
careful not to break off anything and leave it in the line.

It attaches to the A/C evaporater core inside the a/c module that is in/behind the dashboard. To access it you would need to remove the dash assembly and then remove the a/c/heater core assembly. Not an easy task for the do it yourself person as special tools and equipment are nneeded to recover and recharge the a/c system itself

Water keeps running low on my Mazda 626. i know there is a split in the seam of the over flow jug could this empty the coolent in 4 to 5 days of driving?

Any leak will allow coolant to escape. If the item is truly an overflow and not an expansion tank, loss would be less. Pressure test the cooling system and fix any leaks, is the next step.

91 mazda 626 erractic idle surge when engine is cold

My '91 626 did the same thing. I tested the throttle position sensor, and it was good so that wasn't it. The other likely culprit is the Idle Speed Control valve, or Idle Air Control valve, which is a $500 part new (more than I paid for the whole car). I pulled one off a 626 at the salvage yard and got it for 3 bucks, put it on (it's an easy DIY, just 4 philips screws holding it to the intake manifold), however I can't be sure that solved the problem, since I haven't run the car much since then. It would seem the most likely cause, tho, and a cheap fix if you go used. Other possibilities: O2 sensor or Mass Air Flow sensor?
