Best suggestion and the cheapest is to have the fault codes read first
then fix what ever is recorded
it could be a problem accelerator position sensor or throttle position motor but that will show up in the fault codes

Testimonial: "thanks for answering bill, the problem is no fault codes are found, which is why i am struggling with problem?"

  • Bill Boyd Mar 13, 2016

your problem will have a fault code recorded and the fact that you cannot get one up may indicate a problem in the ECM unit
IF it is possible try to replace your ECM with a known good unit and see it that resolves the fault
If not start with replacing the accelerator position sensor with a known good one
( one thing at a time to find the faulty unit )
make sure that the scanner is being connected correctly by using the correct cables as some scanners use different cables for different cars

2013 Accord not starting Already replaced the starter and installed a new battery but nothing happened. When I turn the key I heard a "click" and nothing else. Lights in the dashboard remain all lit

Move the car about foot and retry. If it works, your flywheel might be bad. If that doesn't work, you may have a starter relay fuse, neutral safety switch, or brake switch going bad.

I drive a 2005 Honda Accord. While I'm driving the gauges from the dash board flicks on and off quickly. Sometimes the car completely shuts down while I'm driving. This happened 4 times and is a scary

YOU NEED A NEW MECHANIC ASAP. It is an elecrical problem, you have a sjhort somewhere. Main computer could be bad or need service. Your mechanic probably broke it or shorted it out.

Sometimes my 2008 dodge grand caravan will not go into park. when it happens no gear is selected on the digital display... It is then impossible to take the key out. I have to fiddle with it and push up...

Odds are that after 10 years of use ... you have broken the parking pawl in the transmission (or it has gotten mis-aligned)
Take it to a recommended transmission shop, and ask them to do as much diagnosing as they can without opening anything up. Pull codes, drive around, etc. Many shops will do this for free, then give you their recommendations on how to proceed.
If it is the pawl .... then after it is fixed .... every time you park the vehicle ... stop it by holding the brake and temporarily shift into "NEUTRAL", firmly press and hold the PARKING BRAKE pedal to the floor and let your other foot off the brake pedal. Slowly let your left foot off the parking brake pedal, making sure the pedal doesn't fly up. If it stays put, shift into "PARK" this rests the weight of the vehicle on the parking brake and NOT on the parking pawl in the transmission, prolonging its life.
Good luck on your troubleshooting

Car dies while driving, now it won't start sometimes

Could be a fuel pump that is going bad. Some times when fuel pumps go bad they cavitate and pump not just gas but also air. If you get too much air in the line and not enough gas the car won't start. Have a mechanic check your fuel line pressure.

S----Light

I have honda accord 91 for more than 6 yrs. If the S light comes on ,it means one of the sensors are not working. it has nothing to do with transmission. It could happen sometimes during rain , or cleaning as the computer controller is under driver seat.
Once the S light blinks or comes on . Stop the car and take ignition off and wait for a minutes and put ignition again , it will be gone and will change in the speed and gear shifting will be different.
Hope it will help
