Question about 2004 Volvo XC90
The complaints of the fuel smell is most likely due to a defect in the fuel pump and or seal. Volvo has extended warranty coverage to fix it at least in California.
This defect is both a health hazard for the occupants and a fire hazard. I reported my problem to the Department of Transportation as a serious safety issue. I would encourage all to do the same.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
