In the am my engine will crank but wont start until i pump the gas peddel 20 times then it starts, and will start everytime all day next morning wont star In the am its like it isnt getting gas??

Pumping the gas pedal on a fuel injected car doesn't really do anything.
However, cranking the engine for an extended period of time could "pump up" the fuel pressure.
You should have about 35psi in the fuel line when you first crank the engine. If the pressure is low, it could take 30-60 seconds to build up that pressure to get the engine to start. Min pressure is around 35-40psi. The pump in the tank could be leaking pressure back into the tank overnight, or the pump relay could be faulty.

I think I may have gotten some bad gasoline. The tank was empty when I put about a half a tank of gas in the car. After about 5 miles I stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, the car...

the reason is probably when it was run to empty, you may have picked up the crude from bottom of tank. check fuel filter, that may be the cause a plugged fuel filter!!

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram hemi 1500 4x4. would not start.

I suspect the gas tank has some crud on the bottom that gets sucked in when level is very low and/or truck is parked on an incline.Suggest installing in-line fuel filter, let gas level get nearly empty and then check in-line filter. If there's junk in the filter, tank needs to be cleaned. Or just keep the tank a quarter full until it can be cleaned.

Acts like it can't get gas.

Your last sentence has me wondering, did u purchase gas for both vehicles at the same gas station? How far apart did u fill them up (same day, 2 days apart...) I am wondering if you got some bad gasoline. It would explain your problems and the coincidence of both vehicles giving u this type of problem. How about draining the gas out of the vehicle w/ the least in the tank, replace the fuel filter again add fresh gas from a different station. This is of course assuming your fuel pump is ok. When the gas is removed do u see any sediment? Any water would be at the bottom of the tank (gas floats on water) so u should check for water also. Let me know what u discover. good luck!! countrycurt0

Will not start

also check fuel filter some times when you run the tank to empty sediment from the bottom tends to clog the filter

Z3 fuel gauge twitch

Do not top off tank when fueling. Had this problem and realized that it occured when I topped up after the pump shut off. No problem since. Feel that when topping up, you overfill the tank and fuel gets in the vent line and charcoal filter which somehow affects the fuel gauge. I have a 99 Z3 coupe.
