If you could, this could be more helpful; take it to autozone or advance and have them pull the codes, and tell you what it says is "faulty". These things might not be the things to blame but it will get you in the ball park. Dont start Thrown parts on it unless you are absolutely sure. But first come back online after you got the codes and their meanings.

Not really, when the engine light is on theres a lot of possible problems, try checking the water hoses, vaccum hoses, hi tension wires, etc... hope this helps

GM said the sensor by the oil filter on a 1997 achevia is a crank sensor you its a oil presser sw. and it is linked to Ign sw. how , will the eng die in a second if the wires are broken or the sensor

the oil pressure sensor tells the ECM when there is insufficient oil pressure to safely run the engine
when you start an engine there is oil covering the pump inlet and the pressure buils up
if there is insufficient oil to maintain pressure ,or the pump cannot maintain a low preset pressure , the ecm will shut the engine down to protect it
like wise if the wiring is loose /faulty the signal from the sensor is interrupted and that tells the ecm to shut the engine down
again if the sensor is faulty , the ecm will shut the engine down
how to fix :-
install a mechanical oil gauge in the system and check for oil pressure achieved
replace the sensor switch with a known good one
run the fault codes

1996 Isuzu hombre dies while driving. There is no acceleration, gauges all turn off, and power steering goes out. It will eventually start no problem after 30 mins or so. The fuel pump has been replaced. I...

You should check with Isuzu if high oil pressure will indeed cause a shutdown. In some applications, maybe many of them, the oil pressure sensor is what keeps the fuel pump running after the engine is running.
You will need it diagnosed when it happens for sure. At that time, need to check for spark (ignition failure), and gas (is the pump still turning on?). Shutting down while driving is computer related, usually it's the ignition system or a fuel problem. Check with Isuzu about the oil pressure sensor. Let us know. I would like to know.

Car died in the middle of the street. replaced fuel pump. used the diagnostic scanner on it. says there is a secondary malfunction

Look up your Code at Aboutautomobile.com. Then if there is a single reason for that Code replace that part. Sometimes in the process of unplugging wiring to things like a fuel pump, safety switches like the Inertia pump can be tripped.

Often one part may cause a different part to fail. The crankshaft sensor can reduce fuel pressure by misreading engine RPM. Its possible to blame low pressure readings on the pump and have the problem be the crankshaft sensor. There are other defects which cause the pump to operate at a fixed 80 % and damaging
the pump when it can't cool down and should be operating at a much lower capacity.

Point is that you need to write down the Codes and then erase the memory. Then attempt to start it and let it set Codes again and compare which Codes are the same. This way it should clear anything that Coded because of being unplugged and leave you with the remaining problems.

2001 dodge neon leaking water from water pump i was driving n it felt like my car went into neutral n engine lite came on n it died it will turn over but won't start what do i check

well to me it seems like you have either a intake manifold leaking or head gasket leaking also which is causing coolant to go into motor.check the oil and see if it looks milky or overfull.

Oil light/noise/oil level good

you could have sludge in the crankcase that is blocking the intake screen for the oil pump ... that happens a lot if oil isnt changed regularly .. in some cars it happens even if you do. ...the clatter you hear is the valve lifters collapsing . they need oil pressure to keep them extended properly ... if your oil pump isnt bad it soon will be .. it needs lub also or it will quickly be damaged ...sometimes you can wash out the sludge with kero/oil mix but the safe thing to do is drop the pan .. clean up the sludge and replace the oil pump.while you are there ...once you have the pump working you can first run cheap oil to clean out things ..then drain and install synthetic ...that will do a better job of cleaning out remaining sludge ... of course make sure you have the proper amount of oil to start with .. make sure there is no water in the oil (milky oil) .. make sure oil filter is not clogged ...some oil filters have a one way valve ... that can stick if the car isnt run for a long time .. ....

1995 Olds 98 had oil pan gasket replaced. Oil lite came on,

The oil pump broke down or the oil pickup was blocked not feeding oil to the engin. The bad news, the engin is probely ceised and will cost a lot of money to repair, if it is repaireble.Alternetive is to replace the engin. Could be cheaper than repair.
