Question about 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT
I rebuilt a 1971 Toyota Celica, the ones with the big plastic turn signals. I took those and the tail light assys out and soaked them in hot water with diswashing liquid... shook 'em up really good and allowed plenty of time to air out and dry. I reinstalled brand new bulbs, and VOILA! good as new. You might want to try this first, as alot of dirt migrates into the inside of the lens over the years and makes it look really bad. ( rinse it out really well too). I stopped by the toyota dealer to get a part, and when I came back out there was a crowd gathered around my toy... and of course the salesman asked if I was ready to trade her in.

Remove the metal clips (if they're still there) heat it up with a hairdryer or commercial hot air gun to soften the seal and pry apart. Be CAREFUL, the lens might break. When you're done, reseal and check the wire inlet to make sure it is still sealed (might have been the cause of moisture ingress in the first place).
Alternatively, buy replacement headlights, the lexan may have dulled and it may not be dirt (very typical for 3000gt headlights)
