My vehicle is a 1992 Toyota Previa. I have absolutly no power, no lights ect. Dead. Battery has been replaced and alternator was replaced about a year ago.

Before you tear anything apart check your battery cables on both ends for looseness. Dirt or corrosion.will not let power through. I tried to boost my car and nothing would work. It was like the battery was dead so I got towed in. They put a battery tester on and the battery was fully charged so they replaced my battery cables and bingo everything was working again. One cable was not letting the power through it.

I have 91 Previa and about a week ago I was at a stoplight and the battery light flickered on and then my van lost power and died. I bought a new battery and all seemed well until 2 days later when

Hi

Yes it sounds like the alternator voltage regulator is wearing down and needs to be changed or replaced.

If you can get your hands on a 12 volt multimeter, turn the setting to 20 dc and place the negative wire on the negative battery post and the positive wire on the positive battery post.

The battery with motor off should be 12.6 volts and higher, start the the car the read out should be 14.,2 or higher.

You can turn the lights and heater on to see if the alternator can cope with the load.

if read out is less then you need to change or replace it.

Cheers

91 geo storm, 5 speed. car ran fine, turned it off and it wouldnt start again. I can pull it or push it and get it started.

sounds like you are due for a new battery .. if you can get it started then take it to an auto parts store .. many will test your battery and alternator for you free ... then you can buy whatever you need from them .. sometimes they eill even change the battery for you .. .. batteries last about 5 to 10 years .. so if yours is original then its well beyond end of life .. the battery terminals need to be cleaned and the alternator checked when installing a new battery ...

I have a 91 previa and the battery light came on

sounds like you poped the main fuse in the under hood fuse panel. before that the battery light on in a toyota pretty much points to an alternator problem.

1991 Toyota Previa starts sometimes but not others

Steve I had similar problem not too long ago about a week to be precise. Your alternator is beginning to go bad. You might service or better still replace it.

No electrics working

Could be the new battery is dead, from something in the vehicle draining it.charge up the battery and see what happens. Also could be the alternator is not charging the battery while vehicle is running.
