You have not indicated what year and model of vehicle you are looking to buy so it is hard to comment until you do. Best to repost the query with all the info on the vehicle.

Just bear in mind that there are massive variations in the mechanical quality of used cars of the same year and model and, regardless, problems will begin to show themselves at the kms you have stated this vehicle has due to wear and tear. If buying a used vehicle always get an independent mechanical check done on it no matter how good you think you may be at picking up problems. I wish I had a dollar for all the stories I have read from people who have bought used cars and never had them checked by a professional and afterwards found some major and expensive problems that would have been picked up before they bought.

You did not mention what type of car it was. In any case, you can check out the reliability and owner comments by using google and checking the vehicle reliability statistics. You will find lots of good information in this way.

Looking to buy a rover classic 75 2005 model. Diesel. It has done 96000 Kim's.Are they reliable. Do they have any flaws. Are they expensive to service.

Most times a diesel will last for miles and miles and yes parts on a diesel are costly but when working on one Rover will only let you go so far and the computer will alarm you to take it to the dealer. At this point you could be in for a lot of money you may not want to spend. Hope this helps.

IS A CVT TRANSMISSION WITH 111000 MILES ON IT STILL RELIABLE

They are just as reliable as other transmissions. But more expensive to have work done to them. Most shops won't even mess with them.

I am looking to buy a 2001 audi a6 1.8t se but it has done 143000 miles. my question is how reliable is this engine and is there anything i should be concernrd about or are there any reliability issues i...

Like most modern cars, they are pretty reliable if the required amount of servicing and care is given to them. The mileage is not excessive if the interior and body work is in good condition. One thing to take into account is that most work having to be done on an Audi is labour intensive and will therefore be pricey. If you are getting the car for a good price - OK, but then also, the resale value is not great so you want to look after it and keep it a good while. Hope that is what you were wanting to hear.

Im thinking about buying a 2002 daewoo leganza with 96000 miles for $2000.00 for my daughters first car are they good reliable cars and if the timing belt has not been replaced how much should it cost

My personal opinion is to stay away they are ok cars but I would go with something like a Toyota or Honda or something American made as a first car. As far as the timing belt goes shops charge a pretty penny to change them, depends what their rates are. The belt itself is maybe $60.00 bucks max.

94000 mile service requirements

your next service is due at 96000 your last service should have been an oil, lube and filter. Next one is that, plus trans and differential fluid changes. On every service it is wise to look at the entire vehicle...belts, hoses, exhaust and brakes just to make sure everything is in good condition.

I am looking into buying a used 2000-03 Porsche Boxster 2.7L with less than 90k. And i was wondering if there are any major problems on that car since they made the 2.7l engine are they reliable and if not...

No major faults to report. However the RMS may be faulty as with previous models whoch is not terminal meaning will not cause a major catastophe down the line ( as per my Porsche dealer at Guildford, Surrey). Its £1k fix. Other than that bullet proff if service histor is up to date. ENjoy.

Looking to buy 1999 to 2001 caddy,how reliable ?

they are very reliable and very good cars to drive just make sure they can show you some kind of service record done on the car and if there is a library near you you can get a consumer report and if there is any voice activation system in the car you may have to have that changed at a dealership

1999 vw golf timing belt...

this is a direct quote when I asked about a timing belt on a 99 passat

"The timing should be Good unless you have Problems with a Rough Idle."

the person has an 85% accuracy rating, so he seems to know what he is talking about. however, if its of major concern to you, its better to replace it before it snaps, adding more money to the repair.

Used jaguar

hi, i wouldnt worry to much as they are built to a realy high quality and they do last well. They can be expensive to repair if anything does go wrong but this only tends to happen if the car has been raced around alot.
The engines on these will last ages you should find you will never have any problems just keep it serviced regular and use the best oil you can as this will prolong the life of the engine.

Dont worry to much as these cars will run and run and have very few problems the key is to look after it and get it serviced regular.

You made a good choice buying the car so dont worry as they very often have problems just look after it but with a car like that im sure you will.
Check service history and the last time it had full service if this wasnt recent then get it done as soon as you can use only the best oil and youll never have no problems.

Hope you enjoy your car and the best thing is they dont tend to lose money so as a resale point of view you have made a good choice.
If you have any questions just give me a shout back as i have been a mechanic for the last 11 years and have never done any major work on your make of car the only work i have done is service and valet so good luck and happy driving.
