Loud humming noise front end moving

While driving, slightly turn the wheel left and right, to see if the noise gets louder and quieter. If it does, you have a wheel bearing that is failing. Then you need to isolate which side is making noise and have it replaced. SOON

Ford focus making humming noise while driving on right side. stops when turning to right

If this noise is only while moving, I found a possible solution some time back. On the right side of this car (if I remember right) mounted on the subframe, there is a carrier bearing on that axle shaft. On this particular car, the bearing was still good but the u-shaped bracket it sits in was broken which allowed for humming and vibration. There was also a bad motor mount which also created a "humming" (I guess you could call it) and that was there while the car was stopped and running. The "humming" would change with the rpms. I hope this has helped to pin point your problem. Please let me know how this worked out for you or if there's anything else I can help you with. Thanks and good luck!

Where is the a/c expansion valve located for the front and the rear a/c on a 96 chevy sub.

The expansion valve is located inside the a/c tubing on the passenger side of the vehicle, about 15" aft of the radiator. You will see where the line forms a Y shape. If I remember correctly, the valve is just forward of that. There is a dimple in the tubing right near a coupling. The dimple keeps the expansion valve from moving too deep into the tubing.
Just make sure you pull a good vacuum on the a/c system if you open it

My 2004 Silverado is displaying a similar issue - but it grinds loudly on either a sharp left or right turn at slow speed - it feels like it is winding itself up terribly then releasing that energy in burst as it skips & hops along. If you shut the truck off in this position, then try to restart it, it will lurch forward a good foot as soon as you turn the key. I have no idea what the problem is

Saturn SL1, growling and vibration coming from right front wheel,

Might be a hub bearing. Those make a growling noise when they are bad. When it is on jack stands you should be able to put your hands on the top of the tire and the bottom of the tire and move it back and forth. and the same with putting your hands on the right and left side of the tire. if you can and it moves back and forth then the bearing is back. but becarefull not to get the movement confused with a bad ball joint or tire rod. which could also be your problem but they dont make a growling noise

When the car starts moving there is a loud squeeling noise out of the front driver side of the car then when we stop moving the noise stops

Could be a loose or worn serpentine belt check to make sure it is in good shape. also take a look under the hood and make sure all the pulleys are moving freely when the engine is running.

Squeaking and/or grading noise on the right front of a corolla

www.recalls.gov is always a good place to look and see if there was a recall issued on your car.

Not trying to be a wise guy Ed, but it is really hard to diagnose a noise from inside the car itrslef, much less when it's going downhill

What has me concerned Ed is that it only happens "from time too time", and it has two different noises.....a grinding is usually metal against metal...a squealing would make me think a rubber "something" was rubbing......but where?

My advise Ed is this........if you feel safe driving it, and you can put up with the "squealing/grinding"
noise....then don't fix what ain't broke. Otherwise, if it bothers you enough that you fear for your safety, or the safety of others, make an appointment right away at where you take the vehicle for being diagnosed and repaired.

I know it wasn't much help Ed, but thanks for giving us at FixYa.com a chance to work for you.
