1999 dodge transmission changing

Transmission not shifting into passing gear. I changed the ECU and since then when the truck is in a stain like pulling hills or passing cars, It will not downshift into lower gears. It works fine when taking off from the start and at speeds up to 40mph. I have to manually push the overdrive off to downshift thanks

Have the codes read. Most likely it is the trans temp sensor. Not hard to replace, just messy. Drop the trans pan.

Try briefly lifting your foot off the pedal, then punching it to get it to downshift.

Toyota corolla problems

After checking the easy stuff first like low oil level, if it is high RPM(revs) & shifts hard(lurch when it does shift) then I am thinking the transmission filter & oil need to be changed. The transmission filter acts as a suction screen on an automatic transmission & as it collects contaminants to protect the inner workings of the transmission, it becomes plugged which greatly affects the ability to shift especially the high gears at faster acceleration.

I have a 94 Jaguar xj6. the transmission light is on. it shifts hard in maybe 1st and 2nd gear. I've changed the transmission ecu, transmission relay, and fuses that have to do with the gearbox.

Change the xmission fluid and filter. If that doesnt fix it, it could be the solenids, the soleniod pack, what evey they call it on a Jag.

1999 DODGE DRANGO HAVEING PROBLEM SHIFTING OUT OF LOW GEAR AN SOMETIMES SLOW AOUT SHIFTING OUT OF 2ND TO 3RD IS THIS A COMPUTER PROBLEM

Hello,
There are several things that come to mind that commonly cause the issues you're having.

1. Make sure your transmission fluid level isn't low.
2. If your transmission fluid hasn't been changed in a long time, you could have some deposits
built up in the valve body, or the screening could be partially clogged.
3. You may have a faulty shift solenoid/shift motor.
4. In some cases the speed control module may be faulty.

I hope this helps you.

Wont shift all the time sometimes it just wont change into gears then all of a sudden it does., transmission shhop advised to change filter and fluid what is the process

remove the pan on bottom of transmission drain fluid...remove filter,, easy to locate by looking at the new one you bought....reinstall pan and fill with transmission fluid.....you can try this step...if still accurs.. need to have someone scan the transmission module.. alot of scanners only scan engine computer.. make sure to scan transmission module.. if no codes be very weiry about transmission failure that line of cars has a very bad reputation for bad tranny

98 WINDSTAR WILL NOT CHANGE OUT OF 1ST GEAR

usually there is a sensor on the transmission that controls the shifting. if it gave up on you your transmission won't change gears...

another possibility is the filter....

if it has never been changed it might stop the transmission from shifting...
