I have an Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L 24Valve year 94 how do I check if the clutch for the radiator fan is good or not

  • Ottoniel Aug 02, 2009

The problem with my car was that the timing belt was loose. The hydraulic tensioner was not working. So the water pump was not pumping enough water, so the motor got hot quickly. I fixed it, tensioned the timing belt. Car is working good fine, doesn't not get hot quickly and the noise of the rattling rockers arm is gone.

If you dont plan on rebuilding the motor then just put some thicker oil in it!

The oil pressure in an engine will naturally drop off as the engine warms up. If the oil pressure is dropping too much it could be cause by several things. I don't know how many miles your engine has on it but the oil pump may be getting weak and may need to be replaced. Worn out cam bearings or crank bearings can also cause low oil pressure. Sounds like your engine may be ready for a rebuild

Before I go further can you tell me what the oil pressure is on the cold engine and on the hot engine at a idle. Your problem could be oil pressure related. How many miles on your Rodeo??

I need a diagram for a 95 isuzu rodeo 2.6L cooling system

You need to pinpoint the problem by measuring he temperatures of the system.

1. If the engine is 190f and the upper hose is warm, but the lower hose is cold, you either have a thermostat problem, or a bad water pump.

2. if both the hoses are as hot as the engine then you have either a bad fan (is it running at normal speeds?) or a bad radiator.

3. When cold, leave the cap off, is it full? do you see continuous bubble as it runs? when you start it does coolant spray out (from a cold start) if so then you could have a bad head gasket.

    • Timing belt
    • Oil pan
    • Oil pickup tube
    • Oil filter adapter
    • Oil pump
all that and more, at alldata.com
but for Diagnosis, GEE< ask.

there can be low or too much oil presssure.
low is most common, but is different
HOT?
cold?
and all rpm's.?
non of which was stated.
the #1 causes of low pressure ,is running the wrong oil viscosity.
if 10w-30 is in car, and low, the bearings are shot.
1 or all of them.

do you own a real oil pressure gauge, accurate. not some 5$ china
imported, trash?

Out of oil and the eingine shut off

Ooh, the news is probably very bad. I think the engine seized, not just shut off. The knocking sound would be failure of one or more of your engine bearings due to oil starvation.
You could try refilling it with oil and cranking it to see if it starts, then measure the oil pressure and listen for bad noises, but I think you will need a replacement motor. Sorry.

2001 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 V6 Oil Burning and motor tapping loudly

Do a compression test on all the cylinders and see if the rocker arms are adjusted to the right. If the compression is bad then there will be no power at all and if the Rocker arms need adjustments you could be losing some power there too.
You can try cleaning out the engine from the inside out. I have done this many times when I buy a use car. I run Marvel Mystery Oil with the engine oil for about 4 months and keep an eye on the oil level. Marvel is a thinner oil and clean out the inside by removing the carbon collected and oil sludge inside the engine.
You may end up having to replace the oil pressure sensor, it seams to always be the first to go bad and may get some oil leaks. But once the engine is cleaned up you'll have a better understanding on the condition on the engine and be surprised on how well it runs after.
Just keep an eye on the oil level and change the oil and filter to free up the engine, then use the recommended oil and add Lucas oil and or Restor to help the loose of compression.
The loud tapping tells me that your not getting the oil to the top of the engine and that may be a bad oil pump but it may also be a plugged oil pump screen and the Marvel Mystery oil will clean up the oil screen.
Good luck and hope this helps, Keep me posted on your Rodeo.

Oil used in a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo

depends on your temperature, and where you live if it uses a little oil use a little heavier to cut consumption. If it is always cold where you live like below zero, I wouldn't use more than a 20w 30w. in warm climates a 30 weight oil is ok, but if you have low oil pressure you can safely use forty weight.
