I would look more towards the belt tensioner. Look at it when idling, Then when some one puts it in gear. If it is jumping, which they do. See if it is coinciding with the clicking.
Then what?
If it does. The tensioner is dry out from grease, Won't be long till it won't hold tension or starts Tilting at an angle.internal parts are wearing down. Once it gets to bad, it will start throwing the belt off. The belt should be in line with all parts. Look at it, if it is out a bit at the tensioner(or any other pulley) that is the part to replace first.
