On anouther forum i noticed that if you have the sports transmition, and have this problem it might be a broken wire on the shifter. However this is usually accompanied by the shifter not working as well. If that is the case then it involves removing the cener console, sliding the passanger seat all the way back and resoldering the wire back on to the switch. It goes on to recoment zip-tieing the wire in place to prevent it from happening again.

Park neutral position switch

Yes I would agree the trans selector switch has failed, provided the wiring is good.
The license plate lights would be on a different circuit tied into the regular tail lights.

I had the Neutral Safety switch replaced, and now the Park/Neutral position indicator on the dash is not working right, when I went from reverse to park, the indicator showed still in reverse.

check and adjust the position of the new switch . It may require a friend to tell you when the switch is in the correct position in relation to the indicator.

The transmission is in "D" but the tach is showing as if it's in "2". It's not shifting as it normally would in "D". I put it in "2" and it there's no change. I put it in park then neutral and that all...

Your shift indicator is simply stuck. Until you have the time to fix it, your best solution is to start from park then slowly shift to the next setting which is reverse, then neutral then park. All automatic transmissions shift pretty much the same which means you only have to move 3 notches the opposite way from park to be in drive. You don't need a shift indicator for that. Later you can replace the indicator with a dealer factory replacement.

When i put my truck into reverse my lights dont work however if i pull my shifter back inbetween reverse and neutral if i get this one spot they come on

There is usually a switch mounted on the transmission. Perhaps it has gotten loose or something is worn or broken. Your gear selection goes park, reverse, neutral and drive. Since the switch is not coming on from park to reverse but it kinda does if you go past reverse (neutral) then it sounds like the switch has moved from its original place. That's why I think it is loose. Good Luck!

Brake lights stay on in drive or reverse. If I shift to park or neutral brake lights go off.

Interestingly, the brake lights on the Aura don't work when the car is in park or neutral. This is the way that it's designed. The likely culprit is the brake switch located on the arm of the brake pedal. You can replace this cheaply.
