Question about 1996 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
Does your check engine soon light come on when driving? Idle Control Valve could be causing the problem. Or the throttle position sensor. Some tps are adjustable. If so there are 3 wires that connect to them. one is a 5v line. one is ground. and the other is the voltage that comes out of the sensor. most gm products run on .5 to .7volts at idle.Ask parts if your tps is adjustable. if it is then loosen 2 screws that hold sensor and turn it so that you get that voltage reading across the output wire and ground. If not replace tps sensor with new one
