I've already checked the fuse.Radio and dash clock work fine. Had some battery issues a few months ago (had to replace battery post, and then left interior lights on all night, twice).
My guess, is, door switches fail to light dome
1 or all 3 doors 2 doors 1 hatch. right?
i remove the bulbs, if i keep doing that.
draining battery flat can kkill a good battery and now $130 more poor.
i can not understand your failure statement. sorry
only works.?
tell me when it dont work please.?
off works,sure.
on, my guess fails? or (ill guess not)
and door mode, works. right? no?
if on fails, that is the switch in the lamp bad.
if door mode fails that is the door that fails switch is bad
obviously it not a fuse or dead battery because some modes work
this is one of the most simple devices in in the car.
electric.
car cranks fast yes
engine runs and drives good, yes.
and only dome fails ,right?
as you can see, with the correct schematic,
the switch ground the lamp in ON.
my wild guess , this works.
then you cant get doors to work
did you try all doors?
if the diode box is unplugged or dead
all doors fail. and hatch?
if only 1 door fails . only its switch is bad.
easy ?peasy japaneezy
this bottom of photo wiring
is all door switches, wired in Parallel.
all are open, door closed.
Testimonial: "The problem is definitely with the dome light itself. I opened each door and hatch one at a time, no light. While inside the car, flipping the switch from interior on to on when a door is open, the interior on tends to work, but the door open does not. Sometimes the interior on doesn't work either. Moving the switch back and forth between interior on and off does the trick, but doesn't fix it. In one of the attempts, I tapped the dome cover, and it works. Worked with each door opened individually. But the next day, no dome light. Which is why I think it is dome related. Thanks!"
well you found it
the lamp comes off (lid off , and can be dismounted too)
you will find the contacts inside, rusty (green)
at bulb ends.
at the switch inside
or the wire connections
its very very crude this lamp setup
very Telsa or Jules Vern crude.
inside see a knife switch, ever heard of that , technology
its 1800s tech.
watch the first Frankenstein movies, see them play with knife switches. funny stuff.
say my first on a 30s' ford.
its no more complex than a flash light.
or might be even a momentary switch in side very 1900s'
the lamp "on" lever proves the lamp works
if not it don't (fix lamp/switch)
if the lamp lever works, turns it on
then the diode pack is unplugged, or again
green contacts. at the pack.
no way all doors are bad, see?
fix the lamp, remove it and get all that green gone.
green-go.
