Most likely the battery was disconnected when replacing the alternator. I would double check the wire connections on the battery to the alternator.

open your bonnet check to see @ gearbox if the-res is cable, or a cylinder, the cable is Usualy visible on the top of the gearbox if theres a cable theres no clutch flu-ed needed. Note that your gearbox uses oil. Usualy on older models like 1989 the use a clutch cable no flu-ed needed

SOURCE: Battery for 1997 Mazda 323 Astina 5dr hatch

It's fine to use a battery with a higher cold crank rating than original. Consider the rating in the manual to be a minimum requirement. You'll be fine as long as the physical dimensions and terminal placement are compatible with your car. The battery manufacturer's guide should tell you which battery fits your car.

Cannot find spark plugs in 2003 323 1.8 litre mazda astina

If you follow the wires to the top of the engine from the distributor, they are under the boots when you remove them. Plugs are about 4-6" down inside. f2c5d262-e131-42d7-8496-0946d38b78c6.jpg
