Question about Mazda B2300

1 Answer

Change spark plugs and wires, changed fuel filter, check fuel pump to see if working. All ok, but the truck still won't idle, you have to keep your foot on the gas . The truck will start but won't stay started unless you keep your foot on the gas

Check the fuel delivery on it. You've got a new pump and filter, so I don't think that there's something clogging on those two parts. Also check the plugs in it there's a chance they may need changing,

If the truck has a check engine light, I think you may need to get the computer scanned on to see if it does have any bad sensors on it you cant guess at it,and get it right.

Good luck with it.

If it is not firing on one cylinder, check and eventually replace distributor rotor, or electronic injection module.
Check also for camshaft problems.

Hello! when you say you checked the MAP sensor what do you mean? Did you take voltage readings at idle ? A vacuum leak is the likely culprit, especially to the MAP...The minor shake at idle being the major clue...Send a comment...guru..saailer

COULD BE STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER.CHECK FUEL PRESSURE SHOULD BE 48 PSI. IF LOWER HONDA ADVISE TO REPLACE FUEL FILTER.YOU HAVE TO REMOVE FUEL PUMP THROUGH ACCESS PANEL FROM THE FLOOR.IF FUEL PRESSURE OKAY.REPLACE AIR FILTER.REPLACE SPARK PLUGS IF YOU HAVE OVER 110000 MILES ON THEM.IF SPARK PLUGS BEEN CHANGED ALREADY.IF ENGINE STILL WONT CRANK AND IDLE.CODE SCAN FOR A FAULTY IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE.

My 2002 4 cylinder highlander intermittent has starting problems. It will seem like it starts then will die.I have to hit the gas pedal couple times then it starts. Could it be time to change spark plugs?...

It could be all the above plus it could also be a bad fuel pump.My best suggestion would be have your plugs changed and take a look at them if there is a high carbon build up then check your air filter, ignition components and your engine control systems. If they have a gray or tan colored build up then there burning ok. I would try a tune up first to see what kind of response you get before going at the engine components. Also it wouldn't hurt to have the fuel pressure tested to make sure its at the proper pressure to eliminate the fuel pump.

My car dies if i dont keep give it gas could it be the fuel filter of fuel pump

It wouldn't hurt to change the fuel filter. I would check the fuel pressure. You may have a bad idle air control valve. I would also check for any vacuum leaks, spark plugs and wires.

My 1991 lexus will not start when the ignition is turn with the key. The ingine constantly turns over without starting and preceeds to kill my batterie.

Well if it is cranking you need to see if you are getting spark and fuel.....Try turning the ignition on without cranking the motor....You should hear your fuel pump making a whirring sound for about 3 sec.and then shut off...If no sound from pump (which is located in the fuel tank) check the fuel pump fuse If fuse is good check fuel pump relay...If all checks out ok with fuel pump take into consideration when the fuel filter was changed last....I dont recommend adding fuel injection cleaner to your tank without first changing fuel filter...additive is designed to break up debris thus breaking up all trapped particles in filter sending debris through your injectors.... To check for spark pull the #1 spark plug wire and place it on an angle on tip of plug (allowing you to see if spark is present) have an assistant crank engine while you look for spark..... Do not hold spark plug wire in your hand while engine is cranked.... I hope this has helped you

Fuel filter is plugged and runs rough when its in gear but runs really well when in park or neutral can anyone help me

Its because its not clogged fully it allows enough fuel to reach engine to keep it idling. Replace fuel filter. Other wise bad fuel pump or timing is off
