Question about 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
Check voltage drop across battery terminals to the battery. Just because your battery terminals are on the battery does not mean there is a good connection. The starter itself could be faulty. One trick you can try is have someone hold the key in the start position while you tap on the starter. If the engine spins over then the starter is bad. Replace it.

Is there power as in do the dashboard lights come on? If not, your battery is the problem. If there is power, might be your starter
