When I put the vehicle into 4x4 low and turn there is a loud clunk sound coming from what sounds like the direction the car is being turned to. The car also feels to be getting some resistense when it is...

The Squeak per rotation can be the CV joints inside the rubber boots. The boots are behind the front wheels. A dry joint will fail if not lubed. Sometimes it takes a little friction to warm the grease inside the joint so it will flow to every portion. There are some aftermarket boot kits but the band on either end will allow for access to add grease. Then all you would need is a replacement band and the tool to install it. Autozone or Oreillys loan some tools, they may have the one you need.

For the resistence problem, this is normal. When you are in 4x4 the front wheels will not turn sharply anymore. They will appear to jam. You will have a wider turn radius.

The clunk into LOW 4x4 is also normal. However, if the clunk really is in the direction of the turn you should check the Balljoints and tierod ends. The stress of a freewheeling tire in 2 wheel drive is different than the stress of a drive wheel in 4x4. You can have excess play in one of these parts.

I hope my Reply has helped you and Thanks for using Fixya.

It's the front driver's side bearing hub. How easy is it to repair?

not that hard depending on type of vehicle u drive -front wheel=4x4=all wheel etc--need to remove brake caliper and caliper bracket and rotor unplug abs if front wheel drive can loosen center hub nut -than remove bolts at rear of brake plate tap hub nut to loosen off axle remove nut remove hub this is a basic example on removal u didnt state what vehicle u were removing hub

Tire pressure sensor stuck on

The tire senser can be reset with a skanner that most trie stores should do for free. You deck instaler may have unplugged the passager air bag, shame on them. Your deck man may have caused the other problems too and it may not have the tire moniter without the stock radio.

Installing an aftermarket stereo, spliced the wires and have everything connected including the remote wire to the factory amp wire but still no sound.

There is no remote wire on these newer trucks....03 and up....u have to buy the harness....although i didnt....i have an 03 gmc sierra and just pulled the schematic and matched the wires. And there is no programming to do on an aftermarket stereo.....I work for GMC and we cant program aftermarket stereos......if u buy the right harness ...and its over $100 then everything should work just fine.....and this does not disarm ur alarm system either....mine still works fine....hope this helps

Installing a new stereo

go to the dealer and get the aftermarket stereo plate and wire harness cost me about 30.00 4 yrs ago makes changing the deck alot cleaner and easier. as for schematics it all depends on what you are looking to install.

Installed stereo exposed wire shorted out clock and radio

Most aftermarket radios have an inline glass fuse installed on the power leads usually in a white or black holder. I would probably check these first then check to supply from the vehicle itself.

so you don't drill into the front fascia you can purchase an aftermarket bracket for just this problem. it installs in minutes and doesn't damage the front fascia. you can go to Napa,Oreillys etc. the cost is minimal. please rate this........thanks
