This appears to be a known issue. You need diagnostics with a pro grade scan tool computer. You aren't looking for codes, but data network issues or problems with the BCM. The cheapest option would be an auto electrician or alarm installer.

Make sure your that the transmission is in Park "P" position in order to removed the key. I will suggest you to take your battery to your local Auto Parts to run a diagnostic to confirm that the battery will not longer hold power. Hello! In the Left Rear Fuse Block is the Reverse lamp fuse (10A)....The Reverse lamp relay is also located in that box...If the fuse doesn't fix it replace the relay...The relay is low cost....$6...See picture below...guru...saailer

Is that an owner's manual you're referring to? Go to the Cadillac parts department. They will order one from Helm who prints them for all the manufacturers. It's about $10-15.

doubtful that canadian tire would have that item... you may have to go the auto junk/recycling/wrecker route.
