Analog time clock wont work in my Mondeo M3 when I turn the key with out starting the clock lights up for a second then goes out I have tried another clock and the same happen, only had the car a month but the clock has never worked could you help thank you.John
I am not familiar with Mondeos, but usually analog clock works all the time.... no matter if ignition is on and off..... ignition usually just turn on and off backlight of clock.... so I would check for fuse or some loose connection leading to clock..... check if you have power for that clock with ampermeter

Let me explain something about your car.
2005 Ford Taurus, The key on that car has Chip inside of the key and receiver on the ignition switch,
Check if the key you are trying to use is Black and has a plastic head.
If not you need a key with that characteristics.
But if you have the right key, Remenber if you had drop on the floor, or hit with something,
Because some times they come damaged, with insignificat thins.
Remenber if you left the key close to a magnets like speakers.
If nothing aply at your case, you need to call a place Aloha Smith, they have the computer to program or reprogarm your key. IF not you can't start your car.

Tapping the starter does not always work. I would check all the connections on the battery and starter. If these are good replace the starter. Don't forget the grounds.

sounds like its the IDEL AIR CONTROL motor is stuck tap {pretty hard} on side of it with hammer if it starts and runs replace control motor.

does the battery have a full charge to it? If so clean battery terminals and chck battery cable at starter make sure its getting good contact. Make sure battery ground is making good contact at engine. Can you jump the car off? If so take off positive battery terminal while the car is running if the car dies altenaters bad replace it.
