pressure regulator ???? For what , fuel system ? ABS etc .... If fuel pressure reg. inside gas tank
The fuel pressure regulator is a part of the fuel sender assembly, eliminating the need for a return pipe from the engine. A returnless fuel system reduces the internal temperature of the fuel tank by not returning hot fuel from the engine to the fuel tank. Reducing the internal temperature of the fuel tank results in lower evaporative emissions.
fuel pressure regulators are normally located in the fuel manifold. They are either vacuum controlled or electronic controlled to maintain the right fuel pressure for engine requirements and to shut off the fuel pump when the ignition is turned off
If your manually adjusted unit will not do all that then you are asking for fault codes to appear and all sorts of problems to occur
All Fuel Pressure Regulators are usually attached to the Fuel Rail. In
any case, they have a return line to the fuel tank. On your engine you
may have to remove the pretty "Plastic Cover" that covers the top of the
engine to see the fuel rail and the pressure regulator. Look for a
"tube" that has fuel injectors going from the bottom of it and into the
top of the intake manifold. The fuel pressure regulator is a round
looking device attached to the end of the fuel rail with a small fuel
line coming out the bottom and a vacuum line attached to the top of it.
At least in most cases this is what it will look like. Especially if it
an OEM set-up. Aftermarket set-ups will differ. I hope this helps.
is this a car or a truck? in all the Fords i have worked on the regulator is located at the end of the fuel supply rail that goes over the fuel injector inlets on the top of the engine, it has a vacuum hose goint to it. see picture below of typical Ford pressure reg.
the reg is most likely on the fuel rail. perform a pressure test with a fuel pressure gauge. attatch the gauge to the test point on the rail(looks like a vavle stem on the wheel), start engine and measure pressure. you must get the specs for pressure for your vehicle.typicly between 30 and 50 shut the vehicle off and leave the gauge attached. the pressure should hold. is the check engine light on?
Step one
Click the key forward BUT don't start the car listen for fuel pump to pressurize and shut off. But if the pump keeps running change the fuel pump relay switch under drivers seat. If its pressurizing and shuts off then its not your fuel pump. Fuel pressure at rail when idling is 30 psi.
Let me know what happens cause I know alot about Stangs had 2 5.0
check the fuel pressure regulator and the injectors, the common problem with this car is the crank sensor, located on the gearbox, behind the engine, did the home tune carryout a computer diagnostic, if not get one done asap, it will save u money and time.
volvo s80 y reg 2.4 runs ok little bit lumpy tickoover when warm but very loud whistling noise take dipstick it stops but very big suction from tube not pressure it is not breather box under manifold
