The Lightning Bolt is usually an electrical indication. A Sensor is getting an incorrect reading. Stalling could be caused by several things such as a bad O 2 Sensor, a bad MAS- Mas Air Flow Sensor, a bad Throttle Position Sensor, or maybe a poor fuel pump connection, or maybe an injector is going bad. Have your car- OBD Read- from your local Advance Auto, or AutoZone. They will hook it up to a scanner to give you any codes of system errors pertaining to your vehicle. This will better guide you toward troubleshooting and repair or replacement of necessary parts.

Take throttle body off, clean Throttle Body with Carburator cleaner. I had same problem and its the ethynol in fuel that creates a build up in the throttle body which creates this problem. I did what a friend of mine said to do (service manager at Dodge Dealership) it hasnt happened again.

on my 2004 ram 2500, I had to depress the trip odometer button and turn on the Ignition. all lights on instrument panel will illuminate, continue to hold button in and tach/speedomenter will run full up and back down. once this has completed, the obd codes will be shown in the odometer.
Good Luck

I took my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi to a mechanic that works from a garage at his home, recommended by a friend of mine. He removed and cleaned the throttle body and sensor(s?), then reinstalled them, and then disconnected both battery cables and held them together for 2 minutes so that the engine controller could reboot with the factory default settings, then reconnected them. I had bought a can of throttle body cleaner on my way over to his house for about $3.00. He charged me $40.00 for the job. This was done mid-February, about 10 weeks and 2500 miles ago. So far, the problem Has Not happened again, the truck has been running great!

This usually means you have a problem with the electronically controlled throttle. If you got to most auto part stores, they will let you borrow a code reader and you can be sure. If it is the throttle giving you trouble, most time you can fix it buy just cleaning the throttle body. Take off the giant air box that sits on top of your engine and you'll be staring at the throttle body. You see the valve in it? You need to take a little carb cleaner and a rag and wipe the whole area out. Make sure you push the valve open and clean behind it, paying careful attention to cleaning the edges of the valve it's self. Most times that I've seen that light, this fixes it.
Make sure you don't get too much cleaner in the throttle body it's self. This will make it hard to start. It's best to just spray the rag and wipe, or spray just a little on the throttle plate and wipe it up.
