1976 Ford F-250 460ci V8. Won't start. The spark was weak and I replaced the pick-up coil and plate assembly. The spark increased, still won't start. Timing is not perfect, timing light

If the timing light works perfect on another car but only sometimes on your truck, that means that sometimes you're are getting spark and sometimes you are not. Either there is a problem in your distributor or in the coil and the wiring going to the distributor. I would be looking for a coil going bad or possibly too much slop in the distributor. I suspect you stilll have the original one in the truck and by now the bushings on the shaft would be pretty well worn out allowing it to flop around as it turns. It wouldn't hurt to replace the distributor cap and rotor button first.

Car wont start due to ignition Coils wont give spark (sometimes)

Okay, I am not convinced it is the spark. But there is a chance. The fact that torching the plugs allowed it to start tells me you engine is flooding. Do you smell gas? If you open the throttle body with the air cleaner off, does vapor come out when the engine had recently cranked? If it is electrical, then power to both ignition modules is failing, which means A. the ECM is not providing power to the modules, or B. The engine crank sensor has failed. The Cause could be a bad connection to the ECM.
A scope will indicate whether or not the proper pulses are being input and output from the ECM to the modules. Of course it will need to be tested when it is not working compared to when it is. When cranking, the tach should move indicating rotation of the crank, if not, there is a good chance the crank sensor is no good.

Turns over but want start

Have you checked the basics? Spark, fuel, compression. If you have all 3, then it should run. Usually on any Honda, you'll find the distributor will be your issue. In my experience, about 90% of the "no start, has no spark" issues end up boiling down to the distributor. Sometimes it's just a coil, but most of the time it's one of the three pick-up sensors in the distributor. Go there first. Check for spark.

1988 honda accord -wouldnt start- there is power to the fuel pump will turn over just not start- what am i missing?

Pull a spark plug lead off and put a spare plug in, hold it against the block while a helper cranks the engine over. If you have no spark, make sure that the camshaft is turning as it is possible the timing belt has broken. Sometimes you can look through the oil filler at the cam while someone cranks, if you can't see through there, you can take the distributor cap off. This will also allow you to check to make sure that the rotor is firmly attached to the distributor shaft. Sometimes the little screw that holds it on, drops out and the rotor falls off. If the rotor is turning and you had no spark, it is possible you have either a bad distributor pick-up coil or module inside the distributor, a bad pgmfi relay, or a bad ignition switch. If you check for spark, have none, and the distributor is turning, post back here and I'll help you narrow it down further.
