Question about 1997 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

My 97 LeSaber makes a weird noise everytime I make a sharp turn. Could it be power steering and where do you find the power streering fluid nozzle if it needs it.

Your power steering reservoir should be located on the passenger side of the engine, just remove the cap, there should be a dipstick attached to the cap, you can check the fluid level on there. Hope this helps

Cars steering wheel hard turn

I hope you are using the right PS fluid for your vehicle! Have you checked that?

Power steering systems are tricky. Whenever you add fluid, you should (with the engine running and PS pump turning), turn the wheels ALL the way, both left and right while creeping as slow as a snail on an open parking lot ... at least twice (like R-I-G-H-T, then L-E-F-T, then R-I-G-H-T, then L-E-F-T)! Then re-check the PS fluid level again, and if still low, repeat the whole process! DON'T turn the steering wheel too fast!

Everytime i turn my steering wheel it sounds like something is wrong wit my power steering and there is fluid in there maybe tha belt?

Power steering pumps begin to make a loud whirring noise when you turn the wheel. As long as you have fluid and the power steering is working there is no damage occurring. But either gets worse it is time to change the power steering pump.
As for the belt if it is serpentine style. (Long and makes many turns) then the belt is fine. If it is the V-belt style (old style) only on 2-3 pulleys max then just make sure it feels snug.

My 1997 pontiac Grand prix power sterring is gone and hard to turn i think it might be the pump or sterring whell fluid but cant find it help me please

You might want to check the power steering fluid. The resevoir is on the passenger side toward the passenger seat it is kind of hard to find. But i have a '97 Grand Prix and i noticed that whenever i would turn sharp while going pretty fast it would make a grinding noise and i could feel my steering wheel pulling me. But the thing is the power steering never whinned or anything. So i checked it and there was absolutely none in there. So check the fluids first.

How do you change the rod and pinion

I'd say before doing anything costly have a look at your power steering fluid level and make sure it's topped up, most of the time a stiff steering wheel is cause by either a low fluid level or faulty power steering pump ( in this case the engine would make noise every time you turn the wheels). Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate the answer if it was helpful, thanks!

Weird noise when turning my wheel

Area of interest...power steering pump and power steering pump belt. Check fluid level in the pump.
Check belt tension.
One of those "fixes" should stop the weird noise.

Is a noise wen i turn the weel all the way

Check the level of power steering fluid in the reservoir, there should be a dipstick for that. Make sure its within the specified amount. If its not try adding some. Also there could be air in the power steering system, and if you had the fluid changed somewhere i would reccomend bringing it back to them and having them bleed the system.
