Disconnecting the battery will not fry anything, unless you touch the wires together or against a metal object

Where is the air bag control module on a 2012 silverado

It is located under the drivers seat, bolted to the floor, be very careful of the thick yellow wire. thats the signal wire to set off the air bag. Also be sure to disconnect the trucks battery when messing around with electronics, and make sure you touch your truck as in ground your self before you install the new computer as static from your body can fry a new computer

1997 Mitsubishi Montero sport, dont have the cover for my fuses and I need to know which is the "ECU" fuse to try resetting my computer.

Often disconnecting the main battery for say 5 mins should do the trick without needing to find the fuse.

Battery disconnect switch not turning on & off properly

i am a tech at a ford dealership. it sounds like you have a short some wheres around your steering column that maybe what we call "backfeeding" to other systems. the area where the tilt is on the steering column is a good place to check. also remote starters can cause alot of havoc on a vehicle.

Like a couple of other comments on this page my abs module runs when the car is off. abs light and traction light on. firestone disconnected the module now my air conditioner doesn't work, the fan is...

You dont ever unplug a control module. pull the abs fuse and or relays if you want a quick fix. chances are is that the abs module shares the plug for the body control module which controls these things.

HATE TO SAY HEATER CORE IS A GARAGE OR DEALERSHIP FIX.THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO DISCHARGE AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM.THE CRASH PAD AND INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS TO BE REMOVED .YOU CAN BUY A HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL IT WILL SHOW YOU BUT THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO DISCHARGE THE AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM FIRST.FOR SAFETY DUE TO AIR BAGS AND TURN OFF RADIO.DISCONNECT REMOVE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE FOR 20 MINUTES TO DISARM AIRBAGS IN STEERING WHEEL AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.WHEN YOU FINISH THE REPAIR.WHEN PUTTING NEGATIVE BATTERY BACK ON BATTERY.WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH ON POSITION ENGINE OFF THE AIR BAG LIGHT SHOULD ILLUMINATE FOR 4 TO 8 SECONDS THEN GO OFF.

Flashing light on my dashboard for air conditioner and blower

Possible Solution 1 - Check your fuses2 - You can try disconnecting the battery for about 5 minutes to reset the onboard computer (Body Control Module BCM) which controls the items you mention. 3 - If that does not work, you can then try disconnecting (with battery disconnected for at least 30 mins to disarm airbag) and reattaching the wire connector to the BCM in case it has developed a bad connection - This is located under the dashboard on the drivers side. Should be a big square or rectangle connector with lots of wires and a bolt going through it. Unscrew the bolt and disconnect the connector from the BCM then reattach and screw the bolt back in.
The Body Control Module (BCM) supplies vehicle occupants with visual and audible information and controls various vehicle functions, To provide and receive information, the module is interfaced to the vehicle's serial bus communications network, the Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) bus. This network consists of the powertrain control module (PCM), the Transmission Control Module (TCM) , the electro/mechanical instrument cluster (MIC) , the Airbag Control Module (ACM) , the Compass/mini-trip module and the Controller Antilock brake Module (CAB). The BCM is operational when battery power is supplied to the module. Ignition switch power is needed for ignition switch functions.
The BCM provides the following features: • Automatic door locks • Battery protection • Chimes • Compass/mini-trip support • Courtesy lamps • BCM diagnostic support • Door lock inhibit • Headlamp time delay • Ignition key lamp • Illuminated entry • Instrument panel dimming • Mechanical instrument cluster support • Power door locks (with/without remote keyless entry) • Sliding door memory lock • Vehicle Theft Security system (VTSS) • Windshield wipers / washers (front and rear)
