Question about 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

1 Answer

Starting problems ( vechile is a maxima not pathfinder. maxima option to click was not there!!!) 2000 maxima with 151,000 miles has a hard time starting up. Somtimes it may take 5 to 6 cranks to get it started and its getting worse. One tech on here advised me it was maybe fuel pressure reguator. But once started it runs fine. my battery and starter have both been replaced. after starter was change it rarely happened but happened more time after time goes on...

IF its not a fuel issue as in you checked your fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors and pressure regulator, try having your timing belt looked at. Maybe its time to replace it. Check your crank and camshaft sensors as well.

It will not be a problem for the car. The environment on the other hand...global warming. I think that you need to be comfortable when you are driving to be safe. Let it warm up.

absolutely. every maker like honda, nissan , toyota, have there specific tranny fluid to use because it does not over heat the tranny. dexron lll will hurt any japanese cars. i would check to which fluid they used and check with the dealer for the proper spec of oil.

The sweet smell is your engine coolant, check for a leak under the hood, look for green fluid,Have your catalyst checked, for the other problems, and your fuel presure checked,or change the fuel filter.Either of these should help a little.

Somtimes its hard to srart and sluggisg 2000 maxima

If U haven't replaced the spark plug with that many miles I would start there. If that doesn't help U may have a bad coil pack with every spark plug has one, its what U first see when going to replace your plugs on top of manifold. Or it may be the fuel filter/sending unit.

Hope this is helpful
