Question about 2000 Ford Econoline
I have a '93 Ford Econoline 150 and the teeth in the parking brake pedal assembly have worn out --- so pressing the pedal just slips and the brake doesn't engage. Apparently the part is no longer made and my mechanics have been looking for weeks for a replacement from salvage yards. (They found one earlier, but most the main cable was cut off and, with the remaining slack, there was no reasonable way to attach the assembly to my van's cable!)
Any suggestions how to find a decent replacement part...or other alternatives? I often need to park on steep grades, and am driving without a partner who can shove chocks in front of the tires before I take my foot off the brake. Not using the parking brake makes shifting the steering wheel transmission lever out of Park a damagingly-hard-sounding pull and thunk!

I have a 1985 ford truck, and I get the hard to fine parts there. Hope this helped you.
