Dont know how you changed the tranny but you must have it up on a lift while using a special gravity feed siphon with the exact fluid necessary by vin or tranny part number. it must also be at operating temp and should be filled by audi specs plus or minus 2 oz. (or equivalent ml)

Transmission wont shift right after engine warms up

I would recommend a transmition fluid change first , the fluid in a automatic gearbox has a best by date shall we say and after that will cause all sorts of issues mostly with the gear change

No 4 weel drive

Put it neutral and then hit the button for 4 Wheel drive. It should work then and do the same to take it off 4 wheel drive.

2001 maxima se slips when shifting into 2nd and 3rd only if driving easy. Seems fine under hard accel. It revs to 3500rpm before it grabs. Makes it hard to drive easy. Any Ideas? Thankyou Very Much, Jon

make sure you have the proper fluid level and that the tran fluid is the correct type ... you could have a clogged intake filter .. thats inside the transmition and is normally changed when fluid is changed .. however if the fluid has never been changed then it becomes a problem when you do .. the new fluid can wash deposits off of surfaces that end up clogging passagways and the filter .. so there is another way .. you can have the transmition "flushed" .. they force a cleaning fluid thru the tranny and torque converter .. that washes out gunk .. that service is a little over $100 many places .. however you have to make a judgment call here .. your 2001 may have enough miles that the transmition is at end of life ... they wear out usually before 150,000 miles .. sometimes well before that ... you can sometimes tell if there is damage by looking at the fluid .. if its dark or smells burned then thats a sign of a damaged transmition .. if your fluid level is low then thats the lowest cost repair .. just put in the proper amount (check running in park for most cars) ... the cleaning wont help if there is damaged parts but will if its just clogged up .. a mechanic can help you make that judgment .. you will have to do something soon because whatever is the problem it will only get worse until it quits altogether, that might leave yoiu standed .. ..that can only increase the cost of repairs and limit your selection of repair shops .. good luck ..

When changing my transmition fiter and fluid I removed the old filter but the orange ring around the top of the filter stayed lodged inside of the transmition. I couldn't put the new filter on so I left...

You should really get the old orange gasket/ring out and replace it. I'm glad you are trying to do this yourself because this is a very simple process. Change the filter or clean it with a Gumout type solution. Hope this helps and once again I'm glad your doing this. Transmission tuneups are very important to the vehicle. Good luck.

Auto transmition wont go into 3rd and 4th gear

I had the same problem I changed the transmission fluid & put a new filter in the trans, this fixed it good until I put my foot down to overtake the trans kicked down to 2nd gear & the hold light started flashing again & the trans started slipping again. I stressed over it for a day or 2 & then I took it out for a drive & thrashed it, Low & behold it came right. When you change fluid its impossible to get all the old fluid out because the torque converter holds a liter or two under pressure, so when I put my foot down some of the gunk blew through & blocked the pump it looses pressure & cant change gear. You need to get it flushed by a transmission specialist

Is a noise wen i turn the weel all the way

Check the level of power steering fluid in the reservoir, there should be a dipstick for that. Make sure its within the specified amount. If its not try adding some. Also there could be air in the power steering system, and if you had the fluid changed somewhere i would reccomend bringing it back to them and having them bleed the system.
