Did you check the fuse?
If the fuse is good, you might have a bad brake light switch. It's under the dash, near the top of the brake pedal

Is there a fuse for 05 Renault modus dci 1.5 Privelidge tailgate lock

The door locks and boot locks are all on the one circuit and if the door locks are working OK I doubt very much it would be a fuse problem. Or check the wiring in the boot under the plastic cover and see if it looks ok no sign of water damage etc

put a prybar between seat and brake pedal and use a test light on the wire in trunk where bulbs are sometimes bulbs look good but aren't or you got wrong bulb. a test light will verify that and make sure test light lights

How do i get rid of check airbag message and spaner on my scean? Renault modus 1.4, 2006 model

airbag line , computer or airbag unit is faulty. repairing the fault will rectify the message. its probable that if the vehicle was not in an accident that it is a line probably under the passenger seat. play with the wires under seats with the ignition on and see if at any point the light disappears, if so repair that set of wiring as plugs corrode

Renault megane, 2004 1.5 dci brake lights not working (both sides but high level one ok) have checked bulbs, fuses, connections at cluster, loom in areas for visible damage, all other lights ok

sounds like a ground issue. would look at wiring in the back under the car by brake light.it could be as simple as a connection problem. good luck

Headlight bulb replacement on renault modus

Replacing a dipped head light bulb on a Renault Modus.

Having recently purchased a 2008 Modus with the passenger side dipped beam head light bulb not working. Concerned that posts on this matter talked about removing several body parts or a costly visit to the Renault dealer.

It's a simple 10 minute job. It is a little tricky with limited access and restricted view. However - its as simlpe as - remove circular cover from rear of bulb holder - remove the clip on connecter and push to side. You need to pull the wire clip above the bulb slightly to the side from its holding and it flips down and out of the way Be careful not to detach the clip from its holding points below the bulb - it's extra hassle to put back in.
You can now remove the old bulb - replace with the new bulb. Make sure its sitting correctly in housing. Re attach the clip to its holding point above the bulb. Replace the connector.Replace the circular cover to the rear of the bulb holder.

It takes 10 minutes - cost me under five pounds for the replacement bulb. Hope this helps.

Seems to me that the brake lights switch has a problem there is a way to test this problem, you normally press the clutch pedal and hold down the start button to start the engine, now try pressing the break pedal down and hold the start button, if the car does not start up change the brake pedals switch.

05 plate renault megane 2tr automatic. brake lights dont work but bulbs are fine and fuse is ok. any idea where the problem might be

Then the only thing left to check is the brake switch, which is usually located under the dash, linked up to the brake pedal itself. It's the true secret to the inner workings of the brake light. If that switch is defective, either the brake light won't come on at all, or they will stay on all the time. Either way, you either need to replace it, or maybe it just unhooked from the brake pedal and you need to fix it.
