This is caused by the steering intermediate shaft being loose. GM has had several problems with these on several different models. Replace this and it will feel like a new truck again. P.S. this will not affect your front end alignment so you can have your truck aligned before or after replacing the steering intermediate shaft.

I FEEL MOVEMENT IN FLOOR BOARD WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL of my 2003 GALANT

Something is bad wrong. You've got a loose steering system or perhaps a frame to body mount is loose or failing. You ned to have it inspected right away.

Power steering and suspension

In a lot of GM and Chevys the intermediate steering link will lose grease and cause a clunk-like feeling while turning and braking. There is a TSB for such a problem. The dealer may still warranty the repair. You can take your truck into a local shop and they'll shake down the front end for about 1/2 hour labor to see if anything is wrong. About 80% of the time a pull is caused by a lateral tire pull or even a bad tire. Check your air pressures as well.

My 2005 Chevy Silverado makes a noise sometimes when turning corners that sounds like a horn honking in the distance for a few seconds then stops. No noticeable problems but anoying. Any advise on what...

check to see if the tires are rubbing inside the wheel well.. also you might roll down the window and hang your head out and listen at slow speeds while turning in a empty parking lot. if there is a faint grinding sound then a wheel bearing is bad. this is just a couple things to go on..good luck..

I have a 99 chevy silverado 1500 and when i turn the steering wheel right it sticks at every half a revolution. any guesses?

If i had to guess i would say it's probably the steering box. But get it up in the air and check out all the front end components, look for loose parts or maybe something binding. Take a look at the steering shaft under the hood and see if something is hitting the shaft as you turn it.

Weird steering problem.

This sounds to me like it may actually be your steering gearbox, Chevrolet is known for having gearbox issues. Sounds like there may be a dead spot in the gearbox, but it is only noticeable at higher speeds and not slower speeds. Would recommend having it looked at. Usually a suspension issue wouldn't cause that type of feeling. Hope this helps.

Chevy steering wheel controls

You first have to disarm and remove the air bag (unscrews with bolts from behind the steering wheel) and then you will see the screws for the switches. Only the silverado awitches will work.
