I know what you're talking about & I forget the actual name too. I'd just get some cable of the same gauge & put the proper ends on it. We did this at the dealer all the time.

Is there an under the hood fuse box for a 1988 Ford F150?

It has what you call fuse links in the positive wires that connect to the positive side of the start solonide on fender weld under the hood and wires that connect to the positive side of battery. The wires with built in fuses have a small noticeable lump in the wire . These are replacable.

Still won't crank, battery & alternator shows 12.66 amps. Is there another fuse box that could kill power?

Yes there called fuseable lines .Resistence wire like a fuse .
Olny is on large AMP drawing CKTS starters alts soleiods most times are part of the positive battery cable connection but can be replaced in sections of new wire after testing for resistance . Keep in mind use resistance wire to replace the link or you could do lots of damage if it shorts again its their for a reason.

98 ford ranger 4cyl 5 speed. When u turn the key to on position I get no warning lights on dash except battery light and seatbelt light. Nothing else.truck wont start. Dont even click.

Check the batter voltage first. If not that check fuse panel under hood for a 100 amp fuse check to see if the fuse is bad or if it has power. Also check fuseable link wire at starter to see if wire is still good. If it is bad, internal short possible on starter, take out and test it. Replace fusible link.

I have a 1999 Buick Regal with no eletrical power. The fuse block under the hood has no power therefore all circuits are dead. There is power going to the box but that where it stops. Is there some sort of...

The wiring diagram is showing two 60amp maxi fuses coming from the battery post in or under the fuse box. The box is called the underhood accessory wiring junction block so it may only hold 2 or 3 fuses.
The two maxi-fuses power most of whats in the main fuse box.

I need to check the fuse for a 1997 Land Cruiser's alternator and I don't know which fuse it is

The fuse you need to check,on your make it depends what typ of link they use, On the battery positive you should see a fuse a big clear square one that has a window. there should be two of them ,this is called the main.Or it may have this style a fuseable wire,It should be yellow in color or brown pull it does it stretch like a rubber band,if it does its open and you replace that,Then move to the engine fuse box there is one more it the big fuse it should be 50amps. if that is open you replace that one , Always replace what is rated according to the origainal cover of your fuse box,

I have a '95 lumina. It died in my driveway and now I have no power to anything including the dash lights. I have replaced the alternater and battery to no avail. What could it be?

Well not being able to see and test the vehicle it leaves me a couple of guess's which you will need to check out.

So you changed the battery ,, ?? was it dead ?? and the alternator ?

check the ground connection leading of the battery terminal to the cars body ensure its connected properly, there should also be a connection to the engine.

check the positive lead wire to the fuse box.

to test this easing (connect a voltage meter a. ground to cars body, b. pos to battery terminal)

if the wiring is fine then the only other possible thing is the MAIN FUSE. this fuse is located in the fuse box and is eighter an 80 amp, 90 amp or 100 amp fuse. open the fuse box and look at where the main battery wire connects you should see the use there. its bolted in place. or simply check the diagram under the fuse box cover.

Other than that its the car battery which you said you replaced and it still didnt work. So again recap
check wiring off battery to cars body, engine and fuse box,
check main fuse.

your problem has to be 1 of the 2 of them.

Altenator is not charging the battery

sir , the altenator has 3 wires at the connector correct ? a white/red , a green/white and a black , the white/red wire is involved with a 10 amp fuse to do with the charging meter / gauge , the fuse located behind left side of dash .. the green/white wire is is involved with 2 fuses , a 10 amp ECU fuse and a 25 amp Main fuse located at left rear of engine compartment main box , and the black wire is involved with a main 80 amp fuse at the main box also . both of these 2 wires end up at the positive side of the battery , please verify all these fuses are good . if they are indeed good , then open wiring would be next step verify continuity on black and the white/green wires . i would post a link to diagram but autozone repair info site is down at this time . if ya need more help , please ask .
