If that is the case, it is not the pulley itself that is loose, it is the outer ring of the pulley separating from the center hub. There is a rubber spacer in there that shrinks over time and allows the outer rim of the pulley where the serpentine belt rides to move either inward or outward. Eventually it leads to belt damage and breakage, and in worst-case scenario, the outer ring can come off the pulley entirely and can cause damage to the radiator or other parts. It cannot be repaired, it must be replaced as a unit. Do it sooner than later to save yourself grief.

How do i tighten up the harmonic balancer pully

You may want to have a reputable mechanic take a look at this - simply whacking it with a hammer could likely cause other significant problems. You definitely don't want the nose of your crank beat up.

Is it possible to get a diagram of the crank sensor for the 2004 hyundai sonata

Hi, in both engines the crank sensor is at the back of the engine by the transmission. The sensor is #10 in the diagram below and looks like the picture included.

How do you replace a gasket and cover for timing chain and rear seal gasket for oil pan on a 1978 Chevy 350 motor

the oil pan will need to be removed to repalce the rear seal, so replace the front seal and gasket then, replace the timing chain/gears if sloppy, then reinstall the oil pan.

Crank shaft pulley on chevy venture not inline with other pulleys ?

hi, if this is the case on your vehicle, you need to get it to a shop to have inspected sooner than later. if this problem is the crankshft pulley out further than the rest of the pulleys, the harmonic balancer is coming apart most likely. if this does occur, it may spin off at very high rpms and tear up whatever gets in it's path insode the engine compartment. could be very costly. side note: i once saw a harmonic balancer come apart on a 9 second drag racing car and it ripped through the passenger seat area and went out the back window, not at all likely to happen to your van, since you're not reving at 7000 plus RPM's, but just an idea.
