A chrome piece (1 of 4) on the front grille broke off on my 2005 Kia Sportage. I need to remove the grille to get access to the screws that attach the chrome piece.

you need to first remove the woodgrain trim pieces to get access from the top start by the cup holder and work your way to the dash. then you need to remove the driver's knee bolster and then you can take the side panels off. if you follow the side panels twords the seats you'll see a seam you can pry there to start removal. you'll also have to pull out the armrest box. I can't remember if there are screws in it or it just pops out. you'll also have to remove the rear trim piece out also. These center consoles are not 1 piece so you have a lot of tear down time.

After removing all the skid pans you will see what you need to remove to access it.

This is a pretty easy fix, you will need to disassemble the council. here's what you you'll need;

A multi tip screw driver (or a philips head and a flat head.
A set of small 1/4" socket set and a ratchet (accordingly)

Now the meat of the situation. open the glove box and there are a few screws there. remove those screws. next there are on the driver side, a few caps remove them with the flat head (being careful not ot mark them up or break them) there you will expose some more screws or bolts. you will need to remove them as well. next there are a few covers that you will need to remove that will expose more screws or bolts. remove those as well. and once all those bolts are removed you should be able to lift the center council up. and expose the.

this is a picture of the passenger side. I couldn't find an image of the center council but if you hunt around you should be able to find the 4-6 screws that hold it down.

These things are a breeze. First thing is
to remove the two outside trim pieces, which are secured by retaining clips. The best method I have found to remove these is by using a thin flat object like a small flat screwdriver, and insert it between the trim piece and the dash down low next to the center console.

Once you have freed the bottom, gently work the trim outwards untill you get to the top
of the dash, then the trim pieces pull slightly upwards, but mostly still
outwards (toward the seat). Once these are removed on both sides, you will find
four phillips screws securing the bezel. Remove these screws and partially pull it out. Disconnect all associated connectors, and move panel out of your way. Now you have access to the stereo, and that should get you to where you need to be; Hope this helps. You should be able to get to the
radio in about ten minutes or less.

Step 1 - Raise the hood and remove the 4 push-in retainers that go along the top of the front grille. These are each two part retainers - remove both parts by prying with a small screwdriver. Nothing comes off here - this just makes the grille loose for maneuvering the headlight assembly around to get it in and out.
Step 2 - Remove the "bow tie" trim piece that runs from headlight to headlight thru the middle of the front grille - it is cheap plastic so do this carefully (mine looks like chrome with the Chevy 'bow tie' in the center). To do this, use a flat-bladed screwdriver and a rag (to protect the headlight). This trim part comes off - I started at the driver's side and work toward the passenger side. Place the rag below the trim on the headlight. Carefully pry up on the trim piece with the screwdriver and work the trim with your fingers until it pops out of the headlight assembly catch. There are lock tabs on both the top and bottom of this trim piece when you get to the grille area. Work your way down the trim piece by prying wherever you locate a tab and protecting with the rag as you go until the "bow tie" trim piece comes off. The headlight assembly catches are the tightest. Set it off to the side so you don't step on it or scratch it.
Step 3 - Unbolt the light assembly. There are two hex-headed screws on top and one 10MM down inside (towards the center of the car). Remove these 3 bolts.
Step 4 - Remove the assembly - There are 2 guide tabs in the lower outside part of the light assembly (opposite the 10MM screw). Wiggle the assembly while pulling out (forward). When the tabs clear, lift up on the headlight and it should be easy to work the rest of the way out to gain access to the headlamp.

Step 5 - remove and replace the bulb - it is halogen so you DO NOT touch it with your fingers because the finger oil will cause a hot spot and the bulb will burn out fast. Handle the new bulb with a clean cloth - a clean sock works well.

1. Remove the 6 plastic push pins. The pins are comprised of two pieces. With a small flat screwdriver pry up the circular pin top and remove. Then pry up and remove the sleeve.
2. Tip grille forward and remove. Be careful not to scratch top of fascia.
3. When replacing the grille, be sure that the tabs along the bottom are aligned correctly over the lip of the fascia.

you must open the hod to access the back of the bulb holder , it is either a spring clip you move to one side or a plastic ting you turn counter clockwise to remove, pull off the wire connector replace the bulb not to touch it with oily fingers put it back the same way done

You have to remove the front bumper and grill etc

There are 5 bolts holding the headlight assembly in place. 2 at the top and 3 underneath.

Remove the plastic cross piece by prising out the clips and then the grille clips too then unbolt the bolts eithr side under the wheel arch. The bumper is still fastened using cips. Pull the bumper forward to unclip.
