SOURCE: heater core replacement

This is a really easy job, disconnect the heater hoses at the firewall, go inside the truck on the passenger side there is a plastic panel/cover over the core, 6 bolts/screws I think, remove the cover pull the core, tops 1 hour, as job at work I did them in 20 minutes.

SOURCE: bad heater core

look undre the passenger side dash and you will see a black box. Look closely and you will see screws in it around the edges. remove all the screws then remove the cover, there is the heater core, held in by 1 screw that is kinda hard to see. next look under the hood on the passenger side firewall right in front of the dash, you will see 2 hoses with clamps on them. loosen the clamps and remove the hoses. you may want to drain the radiator first but I never do

How to repair heater core 2002 honda odyssey

I'm assuming you want to know how to remove the heater core. First off, the dash needs to be removed to access the heater case. If you've never done this on a vehicle before, I don't recommend doing it yourself. There is alot of harnesses and airbags to deal with, and unless you are an experienced mechanic, you're gonna get in over your head.

2007 Honda Odyssey front heater is not working, and the rear works fine

Depends on if the heater is working and the hot air is not going thru the vents, or the heater core is not hot.
Could be a faulty blend door under the dash.

My honda odyssey front heater is not working when in fact the rear heater is working whats with it? thanks

could be the heater core is plugged for the front.. im assuming there is a second heater core somewhere in the vehicle for the rear. given the age of the vehicle maybe a cooling system flush could help to restore proper flow thru the heater core.

Need step. By step images and instructions on heater core removel on 1995 Honda civc

Inspect/Replace If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.
