Check the voltage of the battery while you are trying to start the car. I suspect it will fall well below 12 volts. A fully charged battery should read around 12.4 volts. 12 volts tells me it is not fully charged. The rapid clicking noise while you hold the key in the crank position further indicates a weak battery.

I hooked up a different battery last night which is brand new and it's the same thing, once and a while you will get it to turn over once but then it just does the rapid clicking
where did you get the "new" battery from?
How about the connections at the battery? Are the super clean and tight?
What if you measure voltage at the starter while trying to crank. You should see more than 12 volts at the large wire.
Everything you describe indicates a weak or bad battery.
It's a Costco battery, my grandpa bought the car last year from the dealership and they put a new battery in it also. I'll test it while I try and start it today
Costco.......
This battery is a side terminal in the drivers front wheel well, right? If so the side terminal batteries are know for corroding the cable ends. Again checking voltage while cranking or trying to crank will give you some valuable clues.
on a side note. there are only a handful of battery manufacturers. they will private label there worst batteries for sale at the deep discount locations. The best battery you can get will not come from costco, or walmart. They will be an interstate, exide, NAPA, etc. I get the appeal of the low cost but you will not get the performance or longevity you would expect. I can take a picture of our battery box on any given day and it is full of Werker, Everstart, Energizer, and every other off brand you can think off.
Yea I know, I cleaned the posts yesterday and I still got the same result

SOURCE: replacing headlight bulbs on a 2006 chrysler sebring
Behind the headlight you should see a eletrical wires running to the headlight section. There will be a 2 inch round plastic ring. You grap the back of the bulb and turn it to the right which will release the bulb and the socket. You pull out the bulb and replace it the same way. If this doesnt help then get back to me.
SOURCE: Battery voltage tests fine but 06 corolla will not start
Voltage doesn't start cars ..Amperage does. Try to jump start and if it still clicks then your starter is suspect.

They go into the cylinders through the middle of the valve cover.

Easiese solution is to trace the spark plug wires to the individual locations.
