If the batter has been drained during operation, it points to a serious alternator /regulator failure
The vehicle uses most of the alternator out put during normal operations and a percentage is left over to charge the battery
Check for voltage out put from the alternator and ensure that it is dc volts as ac volts indicate a rectifier failure and will not charge a battery
check for drive belt tension and condition as a bad belt will not drive an alternator at full capacity
I suggest that you have the alternator and regulator bench tested by an accredited auto electrician and have the battery load tested as well to check for broken cell bridges
