How to fix a leak that seems to be coming from the water pump or A/C?

There is round part which has 4 bolts on the area where the serpentine belt goes around is loose and water pours out from behind it. Think it may be the A/C but not sure. Any help on fixing it or a needed part to replace would be helpful

No, that sounds like the water pump pulley. Loosen the 4 bolts with the serp. belt still on, then remove belt, and remove the pulley and the 4 bolts. Drain the coolant, and now you can remove and replace the water pump. It is not fixable, it must be replaced. Be sure and clean the mating surface of old gasket material and dirt, grease, etc. YouTube should have lots of videos on water pump replacement, maybe one for Aleros.

How to change a water pump

First drain the coolant if possible (you will find a drain **** on the bottom drivers side of rad). Loosen the water pump pulley bolts while serpentine belt still attached (10mm X 4). Remove the serpentine belt, and plastic diagram bracket just above the waterpump. Remove the (8mm bolts X 5) holding the water pump to front engine housing. Note the little arrow or triangle at the top of waterpump when removing, it will help you to install new water pump in same location. Scrape off most of the old gasket material, use fine sand paper to clean engine surface as best as possible. Install new gasket to water pump, and align the holes (it only goes on one way, and maybe upside down if they don't line up). Locate arrow and reinstall, torque 5 bolts to 89 in/lbs tight but not too tight. Reinstall pulley, serpentine belt and bracket. Tighten the pulley bolts, refill coolant (close drain ****). Just above the waterpump there is a coolant hose with a little 7mm screw for a bleeder. Open the bleeder (engine off). Continue to fill rad with coolant until it comes out bleeder. Close bleeder and test run. Recheck the coolant level later when cooled.

    Water coming from pulley system

Hi, if you have water from the pulley area, it may be coolant leaking from the vent hole, in the water pump. This would leak more when cold, than hot. The repair, would be a water pump replacement. This is a fairly easy job, the only possible obstacle, is the fan needs a special holding tool, to dissasemble it. Otherwise, removing the upper radiator shroud, belt, and hoses, there are 4 bolts holding the pump to the engine. It is imparative that the engine block is clean , (to the metal), before the new pump goes on, then a mix of 50/50 dexcool, and distilled water, to refill the cooling system. Good luck...Coop

    Location of the waterpump?

Looking at belt routing below, the water pump is the pulley all the way to the right, will have 4 10mm bolt's holding the water pump pulley, loosen 4 small bolt's on water pump pulley, remove serpentine belt, remove small water pump pulley bolt's all the way off, remove pulley, now you can see water pump, remove small 8mm bolt's from water pump, now water pump will come right off, hope this was very helpful.

Water leak from somewhere around the fan belt?

It is the water pump. The seal is leaking and ruptured.

Cooling fluid leaking & squealing noise. Fluid comes from area near cooling fan. Is the water pump difficult to replace. 99 Blazer 4.3 4WD.

The water pump isnt hard to replce on your truck. Basicly, what you see is what you get. Drain the radiator first, then take off the fan, the serpentine belt, 4 small bolts on the pulley and the pump is fully exposed. Just make sure the old gaskets are gone and the mounting surfaces are clean and dry.
