Could be problems with the rear axle; final drive carrier bearings or crown wheel and pinion or the pinion bearings. Each of these can produce a load sensitive noise.

After a thorough inspection of the propellor shaft, axle mountings and so forth I suggest you draw an oil sample from the axle into a sight glass. If the sample is metalised the internal components should be exposed for further examination.

I have a grinding noise in rear end of my nissan navara. When I put foot on clutch pedal noise goes away.

Your throwout bearing in your clutch is going out. More of a rattling grind.
Replace it ASAP before you end up replacing the whole clutch.
Hope this helps Mike

May be broken snap ring which keeps gears in proper position, but since you posted this in the wrong category, don't expect many answers.

Humming noise coming from transmission when its in neutral. push the clutch in and it stops. suppose to be a new clutch also it runs great but if you lift the rear end off the ground the wheels will s

A noise in neutral that goes when the clutch is disengaged indicates a front input shaft bearing in the gear box . When the clutch is out that shaft is spinning along with the cluster shaft in the gear box. When the clutch is in that shaft stops (to engage first gear) and the bearing is no longer working.. It normally means a box out job.

What?! Really! The noise goes when the clutch pedal is depressed! So the noise goes when the release bearing (throw-out bearing) is engage? So how would that be a release bearing/clutch problem? If it didn't make a noise until the clutch pedal was depressed, it would be the release bearing! In other words its the input shaft bearing and/or counter shaft bearing in the gearbox. My car is a 94 325i manual. it goes into gears much better when it's off but when it's on it will not shift into gears and if i force it i hear a horrible grinding noise.

you have 2 choices either the clutch is not disengageing properly or the gearbox is shot.put the car in first, put the clutch pedal down, then start the car and if its trying to pull away before you take you foot of the clutch you have you answer....if its the clutch cable you can adjust it..

Don't know where my return spring goes on my 71 firebird for the clutch.

You should have a heavy return spring under the dash on the pedal and a lighter one on the clutch linkage with one end hooking beside the rod pushing onto the clutch pivot. (some have a small hole for the spring) (The clutch pivot is the part going into the bell housing holding the bearing) and the other end hooking on something that will keep the pivot and bearing away from the clutch when you are not pushing the clutch pedal.
TIP. When sitting stopped for any length of time with the engine running......(and more important with heavy duty clutches)....put the vehicle in neutral and keep your foot OFF the clutch.
