Yes I checked all the cables, fuses, etc. Everything is just dead, no headlights etc. My past experience with a dead battery has been that it loses power slowly. This time it just appears dead.

The car appeared to drive fine. I pulled it into the driveway at home, turned it off and tried to start it again. Nothing, no click no headlights nothing. I checked all the cables fuses etc. but they are all good.

Think I'll pull the battery and take it to the shop to get tested. Don't know what else to do.

Either your battery or your alternator is faulty. In a repair shop mechanics can measure the charging coming out from the alternator.

1.Check the battery. What month and year was the battery purchased?
Is it past time?

2.Using caution, with the vehicle running check the output of the alternator.
This unit may be bad. Don't have a multimeter? Then perhaps your nearest
auto parts store will check it for you.

3.What is the condition of the serpentine belt? Weather checked? Could be slipping. What about the serpentine belt tensioner? I've seen these go
bad, but look as though they're still putting tension on the belt.
I don't know how far you had to drive home, but I'm guessing it would have
been far enough that if the serpentine belt was broken, you would have
known it. The car would have overheated.

Loose cables, or low battery, or alternator. If you check in that order it is the path of least expense

1998 Accord will not start

starting withthe battery, check and clean ALL connections as something is not making proper contact.make sure the cables are good, clamps tight..work your way to the starter solenoid and check contacts/ connections there..also chech ground wires..all this is only if the battery does not have a shorted cell in it.. even new ones can get shorts..if you can get it to start go to autozone or advance..they do free testing..

I have a 99 camry the went dead and i tried to jump it the horn blows good the head lights comes on but when i turn the key it says nothing the dash lights doesnt come on its like its not getting any power

There could be several reasons for your problem:
  1. Check your connections for tightness and corrosion. A corroded battery cable/post will diminish the current going to the dead battery.
  2. Check jumper connections
  3. Dead battery; the worse off the battery is, the more time it will take to charge the battery sufficiently enough to start the car; a completely dead battery with bad cells will never recharge sufficiently enough to hold a charge and start the car on a regular basis
Hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

It wont start turn key dash lights up nothing happens

sounds like a dead battery to start with. Not even enough juice in the battery to energize the solenoid / brake interlock to get it out of PARK. Hope this helps
