Some times there is an access panel you can remove to gain access to the fuel pump / sending unit, remove the rear seat look for the panel the lock ring can be a challenge to remove spray it with liquid wrench and tap the notched ring counter clockwise with a hammer and screw driver obvoiusly you must unplug electrical wire too.

How do I replace the fuel pump on a 2001 Nissan maxima

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. Some vehicles have an access port under the rear seat or in the floor of the truck that can allow access to the fuel pump without removing the fuel tank. If your does not, you must remove the fuel tank to get to the fuel pump assembly.

I would start by making sure the harness was not pinched during the install of the tank. I believe the FPMD is under the rear right seat or on that side, in the trunk.

I HAVE A 1994 hYANDAI eXEL 3 DOOR HATCH fuel pump needs to be replaced can I do this myself and what are the procedures.

I researched this vehicle on Hyundai's Website & couldn't determine if there is an access plate/port under the rear seat bottom to get to the fuel pump. The fuel pump in this particular year/model is an in-tank type. If you remove the rear seat bottom and check to see if there's an access plate, you can get to it from the floor of the back seat (seat bottom removed). If there is no access plate, then the fuel tank will need to be lowered (or maybe even taken out) to get to the fuel pump.

Where exactly is the fuel pump for a 99 ford taurus

Hi, The fuel pump is in the gas tank. Some cars have an access panel built into the gas tank so the fuel pump can be easiily removed (this access panel is under the rear seat). However, you may have to drop thegas tank to get at the fuel pump. Good Luck!

Is there a fuel pump on a 2001 Ford Taurus or is it handled differently because of fuel injection?

Absolutely your Ford Taurus uses a fuel pump, with fuel injection the fuel pump is an electric fuel pump capable of higher pressures needed for the injectors, the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank, sometimes the fuel tank has to be removed from the vehicle to service the pump, and some vehicles that I have worked on have an access panel under the rear seat to open up and access the pump that way. Good luck !

if you remove the rear seat you should see the wires going to the pump unit there will be a black snap ring ontop undo it anti clockwise and you should be able to remove the pump obviously if there is nothing there when you remove the seat you will have to drop the tank.
