Question about 2003 Porsche Cayenne

Similar problem with right hand side

We went thro about 5 bulbs thinking it was something wrong with electrics to discover that it was in fact a broken clip that is part of holding the light unit in place that has snapped. Porsche want £350 to put it right, so we just push the light unit in when it stops working!!

The bracket that mounts the headlight and holds it in place is a common fault with cayennes, if you can live with popping the lamp back when it moves out, remove the inner wheel arch cover to access the wiring loom and connectors for the headlamp, then secure the connector to the lamp either by cable tie or something similar, then if the lamp moves at least it wont disconnect

right rear bulb needs replacing....in fact....replace all the bulbs at once...that way you'll be free from these headaches for a few years.I just did that on my 2002 accord....when the first brake light went out after 7yrs, I had them all done, including the license plate light bulb....it was worth it....just think of the tickets you won't get

At first my front right hand turn signal wasnt working. my husband thought that the bulb burned so we bought one..but when he went to change it he noticed it was the wrong one..and also when he lifted the...

Not expensive, Go back under the Hood and compare the wiring positions on the Left hand bulb to the RH. If this is all correct, then check the Ground connection of that lamp. When the Headlights are ON, the RH turn signal, is tacking a Ground from that Headlamp.

Good luck. DT

I just went through a major costing repair. My fuel pump blew and we discovered the pressure test # are wrong. Mine, like yours was showing it in the range but it in fact wasn't. Also the sending unit is on recall.

1998 toyota crolla battery hooked up wrong, car starts but no acc

I believe the reason the lights would still work is due to the fact a light bulb doesn't discriminate about polarity. It would be fair to say you have fried relays in your car. These should be located in something that looks like a fuse box in your engine bay. Some may also be in your fusebox. Hope this helps and good luck.

Tail light ground (possibly)

Look for chaffed wires. A bad ground will not let the bulb work at all. Look closely at the wires on the reverse light. Follow them back to where they join the harness checking for pinch points or bare wires.

My driver side rear brake/turn signal does not work. I have replace the bulb. When the left turn signal is engaged the dash indicator bliks about double the normal speed.

The circuit that the bulbs run off of splits. When the bulb is burnt or not seated right, in your case the driver side rear bulb, the circuit requires the current to go somewhere. Which is why the blinker is working twice as fast.

Make sure the bulb is seated properly. I used a Sylvain 3057 or 3057 LL (long life) when experiencing a similar problem and seemed to work fine. Some bulbs have a coating on the glass and the oil from our hands, especially if you eat the amount of beer nuts I do, will cause it to malfunction. Long shot, but you never know.

Good idea to check the cables running into the housing of the light as well. A lot of activity may have pulled something loose. Exhaust your efforts before taking it in, especially with electrical issues. It's something you need so they got you by the beer nuts!

Good Luck
