SOURCE: removing and replacing passenger side mirror 2002 town and country van

there should be a triangle shaped plastic section on the interior of the door behind the mirror, check it for a little plastic screw cover to remove it or you may just have to lever it gently to remove it.
once it is off it exposes the mirror retaining bolts which you undo to remove the mirror, I presume it has electric mirrors and if that is the case you will have to find the electrical wire plug for the mirror and pull it apart, replace mirror in reverse order of removing

  2. Take the screw out and remove the molding panel that attached around the outside of the power mirror.

How do you attach a power drivers side mirror on a 1996 GMC Jimmy? Existing mirror was knocked from mooring. Wiring still attached and intact. Mirror controls still work. Plastic connectors are broken....

when you open the door there should be a tringle trim cover at the rough place where the mirror joins to the car.

once you remove the trim (normally by popping it off or sliding it up or a mixture) there should be 2 or 3 nuts. remove the nuts and the hole wing mirror can be removed from the car. note sometime the connector behind the tringle trim cover or behind the door trim itself. be care when removing the wing mirror not to catch the wires

How do you replace the exterior mirror glass on a 2007 chevy tahoe. I have the the replacement glass portion but not sure how to release the broken portion from the mirror motor. Thanks for any info!

i just replaced the passenger side on mine and this is what i did.

1. on the back side of the mirror housing is a half moon shaped plastic piece. gently remove that from the housing, exposing a portion of the back side of the mirror.

2. disconnect the two wires (remember rt and lf). carefully, with a pry tool, apply pressure on the center of the back side of the mirror, it will pop loose.

3. once the mirror is off there should be a round plastic piece attached to the back side of the mirror. on the passenger side there is a tab in the upper left side. lift up on the tab and slide the plastic piece down...it should slide off.

4. once you have the plastic piece off it goes on the back of the new mirror in the opposite way. you line up the four cross tabs and slide the mirror up until the tab grabs it.

5. put the mirror back in the housing by lining the circle (on back side center of mirror plate) with the center of the mirror housing. genlty apply pressure on the center of the mirror (i had to hit it firmly with the palm of my hand) unitl it snaps into place.

6. once it snaps into place you can reconnect the two wires to the back of the mirror and install the back side plastic housing......DONE

How do you change out a left side mirror assembly on a 2005 town and country?

1. Pop off the triangular piece that is just cosmetic on the upper flat part of the mirror where it is attached to the van.
2. Under this piece are two visible bolts which you will need a Torx driver to remove.

3. Open the passenger door all the way open and remove the 3rd bolt, which is exposed from the outside of the car.
4. Expose the wiring harness plug by doing the following:
a. Pull off the door weatherstripping along the top of the door and on the pillar (the part of the car to the left of the windshield) Do not completely remove the weatherstip - simply pull it away enough to execute the next step.

b. Remove the plastic pillar cover: it simply snaps in. Pull hard and it will pop off
c. Lift up the plastic cover over the speaker on top of the dashboard. This piece goes all the way across the dashboard. Simply lift it up enough to get your hands underneath it. There is no need to free it from the passenger side.

d. Follow the mirror wiring harness around the rear of the speaker (the side nearest the engine) and unplug it from the female connector at the right-rear of the speaker. There may be a wire clip at the left-rear of the speaker that you will need to get the wire out of.
5. Unplug the wire, remove the mirror, replace the mirror, reinstall everything

hope its work

VW GOLF GTI SIDE MIRROR

If by the spring you mean where the mirror attaches your in luck. New replacement mirrors, and just the glass part, are readily available from auto parts stores. The mirror is easily mounted using a special glue also obtained at the same store. Just clean the surface of the "spring" well with acetone, apply the glue and mirror as instructed. Good luck.

Passenger side mirror popped out of housing, need to reattach

According to the factory service manual you need to first connect the mirror defogger terminals (if equipped). Next, line up the tab clips on the back of the mirror that fit into the slots of the mirror mount. Push in the bottom of the mirror fully and then use a cloth covered flat-tip screwdriver and place it between the top of the mirror and the mirror housing and press downward. This should engage the tab clips into their corresponding slots in the mount. When finished, check to see that the mirror adjusts properly. Sounds easy but I'll bet its tricky. I haven't done this repair before so write back with a comment and less us all know how it went.

My passenger side mirror was damaged by a tree falling on it. (just missed my car thankfully) the mirror is intact but the casing is cracked. Do I have to replace the whole casing with mirror?

The mirror will pull out. There are two power control arms behind the mirror and in the center is sort of a ball and joint connection. Pull firmly and the mirror will come off. However you can buy a mirror assembly from a salvage yard and have the mirror already attached. I recently replaced one on my Excursion. I have a casing with no mirror.
